I have a ZT 302, it's a bit heavy for an EDC. I'm looking for something just as big or bigger. My ideal frame lock is a Benchmade Skirmish but they are too hard to find so I've given up. I also like the Kershaw Ti Tyrade but A- it's hard to find and B- I'd kind if prefer a manual and not spring assist since I already have a ZT 302. Kershaw JYD2 is also great but hard to find. I am also not afraid to go the custom/semi custom route as long as it can stay around $400 give or take $100. Is there anything out there you can recommend?

hinderer xm-18 or the zt 0551 if you can find one....those or a chris reeve umnumzaan i love that knife

Have a look at the Alphahunter framelock by Peter R (a bladeforums member) and another by Jake Hoback (Kungfumo in bladeforums). Within your budget and not just any off the rack model. :)

Also have a look at Farid's framelock in the knifemaker's for sale : Folder section. Love how he does his framelocks. And he is well known for overbuilt folders.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide :)

BTW, Skirmishes do show up for sale often enough, you just have to be patient. Check the for sale forums here regularly and you should be able to get one. I think there was a massive Benchmade lot a while back that had a lot of disco'd BM's, there might have been a Skirmish or two in there. There are a decent amount of larger Ti framelocks out there, but if you want a Skirmish, the knifenut in you probably won't be satisfied until you get a hold of the real thing.

Don't give up on finding a Skirmish. I just scored one in mint condition for $300. And its well worth it.

The Lionsteel SR-1 is almost identical in size and dimensions to the ZT 030X series:

The SR-1 weighs in at about 6.9 oz compared to the 8.6 oz of the ZT 030X.

Laconico does amazing work... I'd have to plug Jake Hoback here.. the A10 Terminator he's doing for me right now is sick... I doubt any thing "large" and ti will be much lighter than your ZT for edc though

That alphahunter looks sweet! What is the weight on those?

The grayman satu is awesome, just a bit heavy @ 10 ounces. That's a tank and a half.

Join the gang, it is great to know there ain't that many in the world. Sorta like an exclusive club :)

Would be nice to get the maker to number the pieces, that'll make them even more valuable :)

LionSteel SR 1. One solid block of titanium for handle and frame lock, no slabs pinned together. Roto-lock to lock blade open with no possibility of closing if you so wish. Replacable frame-lock bearing surface. Great blade shape.

Is there any Hunter\s available or is there a huge waiting list? What is the price as well?
