Large Vantage 20CV lock face

The vantage has divots on the back just above the lock face to id the metal. The holes are in the 110 blade as the back of the 110 is the slip surface for the back spring lock.

They no longer burn holes through 110 blades to identify the steels. When the blades are fine blanked, they're punched out with a different number of "bumps" on the cutting edge near the tip that identifies the steel during processing and is subsequently ground off during the grinding and finishing.

Or... i could just be making that up...;)
