Curious if anyone knows what the percentage of sales (ownership) is of Large Sebs VS Small Sebs? What have you guys got? I run large all the time, with an Um kicked in too, but the forum has inspired me to get a small ,since so many of you seem to like them to see what it's all about. Hope to have it tomorrow and EDC for a while.Bart

I'd guess that it's pretty even, although I have no official numbers whatsoever. I'm a large Sebenza guy personally, but many people are loyal to their smalls. Personal preference, I had to own both to decide what I liked more.

I prefer the large sebenzas over the small but there's some other factors that come into play, for example, there's some situations when a large knife freaks people out,in case it needs to be used in from of them, Im used to the proportions of the knife but if you see it from someone else's point of view (someone not used to knives) it makes sense and that is where the small sebenzas come handy and to be quit honest it is a really capable knife, I can totally use the small for edc with no problems whatsoever, but I just prefer the large, matter of personal taste, my advice, get one and try it for yourself, specially the small insingo.

I'm the same way magicblade. Sometimes I'm hesitant to pull out my large just due to the company around, and for that role the small would be nice. However that's why I purchased my Ti-lock, just for something a little smaller than the large, but still bigger than the small.

When carrying my Small Sebenza I have never pulled it out to use and said to myself "Darn I wish the blade was a half inch longer, this knife won't do the job."

When carrying my Large Sebenza there has been situations where I've been hesitant to use it, as it is a larger knife, and I wish I had brought my small Seb.

Conclusion for my uses I only own Small Sebenzas now. For 99% of the time I could honestly carry either. The small Sebenza is just such an efficient work horse I don't need much more blade length. I spent just under 4 hours yesterday trimming all the trees in my yard using a long pole tree trimmer and my small seb. Here is a pic of it and the beer after I was done.

I only own smalls at this point, though I have had large versions in the past. I have a zaan that fills the void for a big crk knife nicely, so a large sebenza is not needed in my rotation. I have limited times where I can carry a knife that big, so smalls for me make more sense.

I have both, but find myself with the large in my pocket most of the time. They don't seem so big after after awhile. It's probably why I don't currently own a Mnandi; the small Sebenza fits that bill for gentleman's carry for me anyhow. I use my large quite often for food prep and whatnot. The longer blade shines through for everything, and it's never too much blade. Great knife.

I was a small sebbie guy til I got the 25. Now I prefer the large over the small. Not that the small wasn't enough. I just like the large mo betta! Haha! But I still have the small and will carry for those occasions. But I have a large 21 insingo, 25, and a zaan.

I'm Not a PC guy so I enjoy it when people freak a little at the sight of an UM or Large Seb... part of that grin is knowing I have a Wilson CQB on my other hip.... it's not very good for opening boxes though! I will give the Small Insingo a shot, and agree , especially after hard hunting experience sometimes less is more in a blade. Mainly curious as to the forums take on size. Bart

Lol. I disagree... I've opened a box with my Wilson CQB. Just had to keep a tight group!

I also enjoy keeping a constant rotation. In the office I now can get away with carrying a large Sebenza. I was a little hesitant until I decided to bring in my Fehrman first strike and tell a few hunting stories. Now my coworkers see my Sebenza and don't give it a second look.:)

I've had smalls but now only have a large. I like the large better because it's... larger. If I am honest, though, the small was almost forgettable in my pocket and it could cut anything I needed. For EDC, I think the small wins hands down. Actually, forget that, I don't have the budget for a small. Small is terrible!

I cover all my bases. I have a large starbenza clipped to my pocket. I keep my ivory mnandi on hand for those times I dont want to show a lot of blade.

You nailed one part of it - too many people gasp at even a small Sebbie in an office environment. I've found the small is perfect as an urban EDC. The only time I carry my large is out in the boonies

It's amazing that you said all of that in one sentence and I followed your post completely. I didn't even have to read it twice!

I have come to know that I gravitate towards folders in the 3.5 inch range. I like my 25. However, I agree that some situations a smaller knife comes in handy. I am leaning towards a small 21 with inlays and Damascus for this role. Some day I will pull the trigger.

I love carrying a 3.5 inch-ish blade, for me it's perfect. But for the situations where I need a smaller blade, I bought the Ti-lock. Still gets me a little more blade than a small sebbie, in about the same footprint.

I can the large whenever I can and the small when my clothing or surroundings dictate a smaller knife. I like them both, but I do prefer the large.

Out of my small large and mnandi, small has won edc title.

I wear slacks or jeans and the large is just too bulky.

I do like having variety though, on my hikes I bring the large.

Theres a thread about a medium sebenza (hopeful thinking), and id say id love to handle one if one is ever made.
