I dislike switchblades but I'd carry that. Nice one!

Here's one of my favorites. This thing is big, about 15" overall. No markings, but likely of Mediterranean origin, and pretty old, guessing a century or more. Ring lock to close, like the Okapi knives use. The handle is one solid piece of ebony.

And here's a current production of a Spanish navaja.

Beautiful traditional knives:)! I have ton of modern knives, but do not really like them.Going to Europe in January and will hopefully find some traditional navajas and stilettos!

Another one not mentioned can be found if you Google "Al Mar Large Liner Lock." I've yet to find one for sale reasonably. I discovered this Al Mar only recently.

The stiletto is one of my very favorite blade designs. I've had Italians (prefer the Sicilian designs), carried a fine navaja a few years back for a while, and I like Basque Yatagans. I like some of the OTF's but can't get past their blade wiggle. Never been a balisong guy because I know I'd play with it and slice myself eventually.

As I prefer a 4-6" blade length in these, my two Ti-Lites are currently among my favorite urban EDC's. While both are fine knives, the 4" is probably my favorite flick knife.

puukkoman, where did you get those 2 navajas?Does anyone know where I can order a quality old style navaja for decent price?

The Extrema Ratio Resolza is in my opinion a very good modern version of a traditional knife, while not too large (12 cm blade), the pattern has a history of fighting to back it up. Bought it recently and really like it.

If I had to open somebody up.with a traditional knife
This is what I'd use ( though a finger grooved model may provide a safer grip )

You can't argue the fact that the buck 110 is a very slicey and stabby blade.

HFinn, I recently picked up the ER Resolza. Not my first ER, but definitely the one for daily use. I keep it on my desk, but it finds its way into the kitchen. Fighting salads, garlic and onion, vegetables for steaming.
