Just today, I received the CRKT M16-14Z that I bought from a guy here at BladeForums, and I have to tell you, that you REALLY should take a close look at this model, as I am VERY impressed with it...It's a very well-made, very smooth folder.

Knowing of your admiration of ZT, Dann, that is pretty high praise for a CRKT product. I might have to take a look at that puppy.

Agreed - very nice for the price. I have the M16 desert big dog and its a whole lot of knife for the money.

If weight is not a big concern... TOPS/Buck CSAR-T is very heavy duty. So is the Ontario Retribution 1.

I don't think there's a better knife in that range than a Spyderco Endura. Everything you need -- and nothing you don't.

And if you are unsure how you'll like the Endura overall, I recommend the Byrd Cara Cara 2. $20...and aside from using a lower quality steel and having a slightly rougher fit and finish, it is basically the same knife. It's been my EDC for months, and has encouraged me to look into the Enfur when finances allow it.

I just got my hands on a new gen Recon 1 and all I can say is wow, this is an impressive knife at the price point. Anybody who talks crap on this knife hasn't held one. I think you can find these for around $50-$60 give or take.
