Larger Traditional Knife

Some people don't like the origin of this one but it is a big sucker with long pulls and great build quality.
AG Russell Texas Ranger 2009.

What fits. Traditional, long pull, >4", end-capped, sharp
What might not fit. Scale material (micarta), too big, China-made, lockback?.

Most 5" Texas toothpicks fit your bill, except the long pull.

I am looking for something to replace my Umnumzaan for daily NYC carry. I prefer bigger blades, but I can't have it lock.

I'm taking enough of a risk carrying the Umn as is.

I like everything except for the lock. I hold no grudges against China made knives, except that a USA made alternative would be preferred.

I'll second the Queen Mountain Man slipjoint idea. Not double bolstered, though.

Douk Douk is a great large knife. Its slim, fits in any pocket, has a strong backspring, "unibody construction" and costs <$20. You may need to do a little edge and tip modification, but with the softer steel it's a breeze. For NYC carry, you can get it in the blade length you want and its very unobtrusive. Despite the narrow tang, it's a beater. There's a Utube video on how strong it is.
