Larrin's Got a Book

I just got the book and not only is it a flashback to Mechanics of Materials 1 and 2, but it's extremely well put together and an absolute bargain at the price. I just wish I could teach a class using it as a text. Who am I kidding, I wish I could take that class.

I just ordered mine. I'm so jealous of all of you. Screw the budget the wife is taking a nap and can't stop me :D.

I have seen some pics and it was really cool to see so many people that were included from this forum. Classy.

Oh I can't wait.

PS. Larrin Larrin going through Amazon will we have access to buy this over the years if somehow a copy gets lost or is this going to turn into a holy grail book at some point?

I don't have any plans of taking it down and I don't think Amazon randomly removes things.

Larrin, looking through this book in more detail, it is head and shoulders above anything else out there. I recommended it to all my knife friends, plus my knife workshop group people. I posted the link in both my Facebook knife groups with a glowing recommendation. Even just knife buyers can wade through the marketing BS with this knowledge. The price is ridiculously low for what is in it. Every knife maker I look up to who bought it has been raving about how great it is. You knocked it out of the park! Congrats!

P.S. thank you for mentioning me in the acknowledgements. That really made me feel incredible.

Got my copy yesterday and like what I've seen so far. Thanks Larrin!
Hope you had a happy and safe B-day.

Received mine today. Gonna be a whole lotta reading. What a tremendous undertaking...
Larrin, you deserve all the accolades!

I GOT MINE TODAY!!! WOOHOO!

Sweet looking book. I recommend it to a friend of mine who is a welding inspector as just a fantastic book on metallurgy and I think he is going to get it as well even though he isn't into knives. If I ever get back into welding instruction again I will use it as reference material and I would be begging you for a help with material for welding. When I taught 6 years ago we didn't have anything even close and and it was very needed. Good metallurgy and textbooks are sadly lacking in the welding trade. I find that this makes it all the more impressive that we get a high end book of metallurgy for the somewhat fringe interest of knife making. We are so lucky to get this and the reasonable pricing is just over the top. Thank you for all your hard work and thank you to all the people who got you here and who helped out with your research. This will be one of my most treasured possessions. You can loose all the other stuff but knowledge is a good investment.

I've read mine for the most part.
It is well worth having.
I like the level of it and the range of topics. I read 1-2 chapters per day for a while.
It is also mostly possible to skim over topics you are less interested in at the moment and not be lost elsewhere.
Based on many of the posts in the GKD subforum, it should be required reading.
