Larry Akins Knife - $50
Little bit of sharpening appears to have been done on the secondary bevel but otherwise appears completely unused. Knife is not sharp as is. Beautiful tang pattern with red spacers and mosaic pins. Knife is polished to a mirror finish and features a hollow grind. Comes with sheath.

The OAL is 7 and 3/16 inches. The blade length is 3 and 1/4 inches while the sharpened part is really only 2 1/2 inches. Pictures includes one with the knife infront of a ruler.

Unfortunately I do not know the blade steel so I cannot say anything intelligent about that.

I am equally clueless about the material of the scales. I have never handled a scale that I knew was elder burl so I have no way of comparing but I can tell you based on what I have read about elder burl that is probably a good bet. The scales feel like a very hard plastic and are very smooth but have some weight to them as well.

As for the maker himself I have never met the man but the closest I have found for anything on him was a google search which found this site: http://butternutcreekfestival.com/2008/artists/larryAkins.html This matches up at least with what I know about the knife since it was purchased for me as a gift by my parents were traveling in the southern states of the USA. It's a very pretty knife and I haven't had the heart to use it but I like to be able to use what I own so it's useless to me.

That's about all I know of the knife's history and its maker. If there's any other questions you have please let me know and I'll try my best to answer.

The price of the knife includes shipping, but outside CONUS will be more. I accept Paypal (preferred) or money order payments/checks but I may wait until they clear before sending the knife. Please use the gift option for Paypal or add 3% to your total.
