Larry Bailey, A Knife Collecting Icon Passes.

The news is just shocking!!! He was a very good friend, we spoke often. I will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

i first met Larry at my shop after i called him to ask about a table at his show...and after seeing the knives i was making he pulled out a case with a "few" Mastersmith knives and said bluntly this is what you want to be doing...always a hard critic BUT when you did good his praise was HONIST i spoke with Larry on sunday and im glad i got to have that talk...Larry will be missed

My condolences to the family and his multitude of friends. Seems that the older I get, the more I appreciate the ones that I have left.
God Bless

Oh my god, I just saw this and can't even believe it. I was just on the phone with Larry about three days ago and he told me he was in his favorite chair!! He was one of the nicest guys in the scene and took alot of time to talk to me about collecting and really REALLY reached out to me. I am shedding tears for Larry now and cant see this stopping anytime soon tonight. :( :( Wow. Rest in peace Larry Bailey.

I met Larry last year at Blade and while chatting with him many makers/collectors stopped by to say hello, he had many friends and was highly respected which says a great deal about how much he'll be missed.
My deepest condolences and prayers to all his family and friends.

Bill
