Real good guy. I bought my first custom from Larry after seeing the pics in BF http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=163357
He answered all my questions via email, the money transfer problem was worked out quickly between us and the knife arrived in a timely fashion (5 days by UPS Express to Thailand is good). He answered all emails almost as soon as I sent them out (13 hour time difference) so he must stay up till the wee hours of the morning. This is one maker who is more concerned about you getting your knife than I was. He likened himself to "An old women" in that respect, but his "can do" attitude was greatly appreciated. Well what would you expect from and ex-Marine anyway, only the best, and thats what I got. Please note that while all this was going on, he was trying to prepare for the Austin show, and in fact sent me an email at zero dark thirty just before leaving his house. When I let him know about how customs has a nasty habit of opening all packages, and if they are knives, they play with them (they really edge tested my Snody Karma Kozuka and Bushido) so he wrapped it up like a chinese puzzle, layers, within layers, and apparently customs just gave up on it and the knife arrived unmolested. After 20+ knives shipped to me in Thailand, this was the first that didnt have finger prints or dulled edges.
I plan on ordering more custom knives, and a scorpion from Larry as soon as I figure out how I want it. I hope all my customs work out as well. By the way, the knife is is so beautiful, I am still trying to get used to it.
Thanks Larry

Got a LD from Larry@BladeArt recently. The only thing better than dealing with BladeArt was the knife itself!

Larry, you make a *great* knife!

You won't go wrong with one of Larry's Scorpions. Here's mine.

Guys I don't know what to say except to offer a heart felt thank you all. This first year of knifemaking has sure had it's up's and down's.
This kind of responses are definately in the up's catagory. I appreciate you all, your support, kind words, and appreciation of of my work. I've got a lot to learn and I feel these early realationships are a great foundation to build on. I will try my best to live up to my part to honor the faith and trust that guys like you place in your knifemakers. Thanks again, LarryD

Larry is a great guy. Not only did he build me a knife, he took pics of it, so I could feel like I was right there in the shop:

My lefty SE page

Larry D. is 110% of what I think a custom maker should be!

Mitch,
Wow...nice. Makes you wonder when Larry finds time to sleep, but then older people don't need as much sleep they say :) Taking those pictures must have taken a bit of time. BTW mitch, do you use the SE as a daily carry?
My next custom will be from Larry also, and same as you will be looking for natural material scales, to be used as an EDC.

Rad,

The SE is very much a part of my daily carry rotation. Since I got a summer job down in LA, I have a friend "knife-sitting" it for the summer. ;)

Update on Larry,
Just recieved the certificate and spec sheet for the knife I got from Larry. Thanks Larry. Once again, just sending the paperwork via air mail wasn't good enough for Larry. To make sure I got it, he sent it Air Mail express that had to be signed for and was insured. A proper express package withing a package. Nope, Larry doesnt do things by half measure, he makes darn sure it gets where it is supposed to go.
Best of luck Larry.
