Just arrived and I am thrilled. I don't have many details yet because Larry is away. Gold, beautiful ivory and perfect ladder pattern damascus. Let me know what you think, even though I know push daggers aren't for everyone. This is my first Fuegen and I'm a happy man. It also has a nice frame from LA design which will be on its way soon to hang it on the wall. Pics in the future..

Found a pro pic..

EDIT- something to keep in mind. The steel looks flat in my pics, but it plays nicely with light and does what ladder pattern does best. I will try to get a pic of the shadows from a different angle later.

Jon, I know what you went through, trying to decide whether to get a push dagger, what with the limited market they have. I've been there myself.

I almost bought a Warenski push dagger a year ago, without regard for "that limited market", because it was what I had been looking for and was that good. But a couple of problems with condition kept me from buying. But I would have, without any consideration for the aftermarket on push daggers. And I am still looking for the right one.

I think, when it comes to a push dagger, the very best you can do is to get a good Fuegen or Warenski. And you done it, kid. A real nice one, congratulations. I almost got spit spots, droolin' all over Larry's AKI push dagger last year - they are always beauties.

Again, congrats!

Bob

that is a fantastic knife, Jon. Nice work:thumbup::cool:

Beautiful! I have never had a push before. Always liked them though. But after I have seen this one and the R APPLEBY, I think it wont be long before I have one. I hope to see more pics of it.

Whoa, look at that! look at the carving, and that fluted ricasso cover, and the gold collar, and.....Jon, you lucky devil...

John

Jon congrates buddy that is a special piece from a very special maker

Happy holidays

Jon, what an outstanding addition to your collection. Why worry about what "everybody's cup of tea" is? The elegance, workmanship, and design in this piece speak for themselves.. Larry is a true artist, and we can all understand why you are so stoked to add his work to your collection..

Bob, many makers have, and will continue to make fine push daggers besides Buster and Larry. I think the majority of both makers work could be considered the top of heap by many, but it's a big "heap".. :D

Thanks for sharing your photo's Jon, and again, congrats.. Best Regards, Rich

Yes, we all have our favorites, don't we?!

Best,

Bob

Superb, Jon! When we discussed this in NY I could see how psyched you were about it. Now I know why. Hearty congratulations on a great push dagger!

You've every reason to be excited. The workmanship on this one far exceeds any possible lack of excitement about the style. When something has the "WOW" of a knife like this, who cares what style of knife it is. The carving on it is exemplary!

A beautiful addition to any collection. Well done.

Not my style of knife, but an exceptional piece in every respect and recognizably "Fuegen" at a glance.

As an aside, why is it that avery P7 web photo I see is so tiny? The images themselves are great, but I'd sure welcome a larger display.

Roger

Jon,

A superb example of a trademark design by Larry Fuegen.

What exactly were you hemming and hawing about?

P

Never really got into Push Daggers that much, however that's a fine example.
I feel Larry and Josh Smith make some of the finest.
Jon, congratulation on your successful quest.

Thanks guys.

Roger, I didn't have a real copy of the photo and just came across the P7 photo on the web. I immediately contacted Eric and will get a larger one soon. I actually was unaware that a pro photo was even taken and was gonna send it out, but I guess I just saved a buck and a half or so.

Peter, I wasn't really concerned about anything when I saw this knife. What people are referring to is that on the CKCA site I posted a thread asking about the market on Push Daggers and wondering if there is any reason not to grab one. But this knife was a must have when I first saw it and I sold lots of knives to make it happen.. :)

Rob, you know it..
