Larry Fuegen 'Tuxedo' Push Dagger

Let's see that other pic Jon! I would love to know what could rival this piece.

Actually Jon, Larry made a VERY similar push dagger for the 2009 AKI.

When I first saw the pictures of yours, I thought it was the same one, but it is not.

Both, as all Mr. Fuegen's knives, are just superbly made!

Roger and Kevin: It hurts to see you bicker. BOTH of you have great points, believe it. That they don't mesh, well, let the viewer determine what works for them.

But stop the online volleying. You guys should just hold your tongue, even if you're 100% right.

We enjoy all you guys have to educate and share. This ain't Kumbaya, it's simple courtesy. Thank you.

That said.... Showtime!

Noted:

I really like the ingenuity of the above sheath clip. The Pin seems to goes through the hole in the ricasso to retain the dagger if anyone didn't notice.

Also, I want everyone to participate. Keep it cool but I don't want anyone discouraged. Wheres Garsson by the way??
Jon,

I'm around.

Truthfully, while this is a great push dagger, and Larry Fuegen is a friend of mine, don't have much to say.

Have handled antique push daggers, many of Larry's and some great ones that Buster made. I don't care for them for some reason.

The only one that I own is the Cold Steel version that has been mentioned, as it is now out of production, and I was able to get it at distributor pricing. Design wise, excepting the yukky kraton handles, it is about as nice as any ever made.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Here is a nice one that belongs to a collector friend.

Here is a push dagger by Edward Bradichansky of Israel.

It is a little different from the "classic" push dagger but Edward
combined his rare artistic talent in everything he did.
He was a technical designer, engineer, gunsmith, musician and
custom knifemaker. Three of his designs were introduced to the
cutlery world in conjunction with Spyderco.

In 1999, while driving home from a visit to an artist's village in Israel,
Edward was killed when his car was ambushed by terrorists.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

EXCELLENT suggestion Coop! ...and thanks for the pictures. I had never seen the Warenski with the color engraving before!

DDD - That is a COOL dagger and VERY sad that Edward Bradichansky was taken from this world by terrorists:mad: I recall seeing that in your book and thinking how creative it was.

Martin: Wonderful
David: Very cool

I actually own a push dagger, too. It's simple and probably effective.

Steven, gotchya. I also own two of the those cold steel versions. Well my dad has them now, but they stay in the family. One with the checkered or grippy rubber handle. And an even older one with a smooth rubber handle.

Heres a REALLY nice AKI dagger.

Great stuff all around. I know Peter has a very nice example of a Nick Wheeler push dagger in his stash.

WISH it was this Peter that had the Wheeler. Got any pics of it?

I do have a Parker black pearl push dagger that I thought was interesting. It is a lockback that goes from a fixed blade to a push dagger. It was made in Japan in the 80's I was told.

Here are a few push-daggers from Paul Lansingh's collection.
They represent the work of several well known custom knifemakers.

If you have my book "The World of Art Knives" you can find the
correct names. If not........ you are missing something on your book shelf...:D

All the best,

Noo. I have the book but forgot about that knife and didn't think to check..

I have a knife in that book, of course I own it! :)

THANKS Roger! Beautiful Wheeler set, as would be expected!

DDD - Thanks for more fine examples.

Also, one of my favorites is the one Josh Smith made a while back...seeing his post reminded me of it. It was a beauty!

In searching for it, I found this one, which isn't too shabby either!
