I am in the middle of a trade with Larry. I shipped him a $450 [retail] custom knife that I felt needed some finish work and asked him to give me an honest appraisal of the knife and offer me what he thought would be fair. Initially, my request was for two knives and it would NOT have been fair [to Larry].

Larry spend a few hours getting this new custom knife back into a new condition with a more appropriate cutting edge. Larry was still willing to go with the original trade offer of two knives, but he would have been laying down close to $700.00 for a knife worth $400. he offered a different "second knife", but left the final decision up to me. Now the two knives he originally offered PRIOR to seeing my knife were two knives I wanted desperately. But the deal would have been far too lopsided. I told him to ship the second knife he put up as an "option" and that we could work something out later for the one I really wanted.

Larry is one honest Man. His word is his bond, he said he would trade for two knives worth far more than mine and was willing to hold to that. I could not agree, because I am also honest, and only engage in "fair deals".

This is the kind of guy BF needs MORE of...................Ira

I couldn't agree with you more Ira. I did a trade with Larry a while back and it could not have been more perfect. Larry is a great person to to get to know and to deal with.

I have been on these forums a long time, and I try to treat people the way I want to be treated.
My main thing I stress is "communication". You keep that up, and it lessens many possible problems.
I know thre have been some problems with dealings here, but I have been fortunate to meet some really great people on these forums, and made some great deals where both parties were happy when the deal was finalized.
These 2 gentlemen as well as many others I have dealth with are honest, and fair, and have treated me with respect, and that is all I ask for, and in turn give them the same.
I just finished another deal with a fine gentleman known as "rumble" aka Burton Wong, and everything went excellent, and highly endorse dealings with him.
Ira has been very trusting by sending me a custom knife to analize, and determining what was a fair deal, and what needed to be done to straighten out the problems with the knife, and I gave him my honest evualuation, and even called the knifemaker to confirm what questions I had, and then e-mailed Ira the information where as we agreed on a trade, and they are now in shipment to him.
A fine respectable gentleman, and one of the best I have had dealings with on these forums.

I've known Larry ( and Luana) for
26 years (I worked with him for 21 years !)
and you guy's are right.
Hell,, he was the one who got me involved
with these sharp thing's.
Nice to see larry get the recognition
he deserves....
