I have been developing this blade over several years, it has more in common with the later European fighting Bowie than the early traditional style. With these i start with a 1&3/4" wide bar of .214" thick 5160 steel. I cut out the handle shape leaving bar stock ahead of it which i had forge to this profile. From there it's stock removal, kind of an odd mix i know, but you cant argue with success. This one has Goncalo Alves scales which are removable for cleaning or maintenance. Carbon steel such as this must be cared for and WILL patina with use. I offer charcoal grey Parkerizing free of charge. It is 1',3/4" long overall, 7&7/8" tip to wood and weighs 12OZ. I'll take $85.00 shipped in the U.S., my paypal (and contact) email is djl66ftwii@gmail.com, contact me before making any payment.
