Why is everything on the blade engraved instead of stamped?

not that I've noticed any thin blades in Rat knives, but you're right -
on another note: stamp and coating, especially with that thick coating Rat has, you wouldn't see any stamp anyway.

another thought...
strip the coating and lightly sand and now you have a "sterile RAT" that our black ops guys can carry

Also engraving is more flexible. You can change what an engraver does. You can't change a stamp.
