Thank you all for the replies. I'll contact knifeworks in the morning and see what they recommend. if I do ship it back to emerson I guess I'll go ahead and get it over with. The knife is absolutely perfect other than the etching so I'd rather not replace it completely.
I'll edc the knife for sure. I love abusing an emerson. I'm pretty weird about things and I know it will bother me if I don't correct this. The same way not touching up the edge after a hard days work would bother me.

The ones on my CQC-7AW are fading too. I like it. Someday it will probably be all gone.

EmersonRep, i was curious if EKI's logos are cermarked. I used to work at an engraving shop and sometimes the engraving rubbed off the cermarked knives.
