I really like the significantly thicker scales on the LS. I've found the scale on my 3 to be a bit too thin for my liking.
Do you feel like there needs to be more handle further forward, covering the first finger grove?

Great pics. I am curious about the handle on the -4 though.... canvas micarta died?

Yes the ESEE4 scales were dyed pink for my wife but they are coming off and going on a ESEE3 SE DT ,she loves the 3 more,so I have a 4 to give to my son !

I like the finger further forward gives you more control of the blade , though it is not a chopper by no means grabbing the handle behind the finger groove adds to the ability to chop alittle better ,better than the ESEE 6 IMO ,I am loving the shape & design of the blade.

How does it feel with the bow drill divot on the other side (as opposed to the left side like the 5)?

Thanks for the pics.

If you had to choose one of those two blades, which would you choose and why?

I like the scales a lot. Does RIT dye work on micarta pretty well?

just dye the green canvas micarta ,like on the DT3/4 or 3MIL,ESEE 5 do not dye scales with liners or spacers or it can loosen the adhesive and you'll have issues...
I used powder RIT but liquid works as well

that LS is badaaass...instead of purchasing a 4 i might just get that LS instead...

Esee ever consider an Izula size LS..?

Thanks. I hadn't realized that the 3 and 4 scales were the same size before reading the post below. Now I see that you can have both a full grip on the handle behind the finger grove and a choked up hold.

Thanks for the info Tony. That edge sure looks awful shiny. Perhaps they don't come from the factory like that? That's a good lookin knife!
