Ok time for my stupid question of the day (i saved it just for this) what is the... role of the LS? im not a knife guru or any thing but when i look at a knife i can normaly tell what it was designed for, or at least get in the ballpark. the rest of the ESEE line looks to me as knives that can fill the role of a skinner, gutting, defencive and survival needs (AKA batonning) all in the same knife, what my dad would just call "a good gd knife", but the LS well, i just dont know. i can see it would fit into those roles but the shape looks... funky to me.
 
The blade and handle shape are classic bushcraft. The TOPS style of artificial material handle and heavily coated blade are not typical of bushcraft knives. What is bushcraft? Basically, using a knife as the basic tool for woodsbummng, wilderness skills, general purpose living outdoors. It is not a tactical or serious emergency tool.
 
TTD, is that the sheath the LS will come with or is that just another sheath that the LS can fit in?
 
Thanks for the side-by-side with the other knives. The thicker scales definitely make it more interesting than the 4. Looks about the same width as the 6?

no this is not the sheath it will come with , just an extra lying around the house ,had to mold the liner to fit...


LS will be kydex & working on it fitting the 5/6 molle system.... (work in progress) I do know that it will be kydex sheath :D

I'll drop an opinion for whatever it's worth...produce the LS with the Junglas style pommel. I think the only ESEE with the flat pommel and lanyard hole is the Junglas, and I think it would look good on the LS. And you could bang on stuff with it:D
 
I am not sure if many changes from the proto-type will be done if any other than the screws being changes to flat head ?

Tony is our official tester of the prototype. If he and Shon work out some minor changes then great.
 
Another idea?.... Reason for the laser strike. someone brought up the screws to the handles and what are the odds of having an Allen wrench in the field, so slot screws were used. I was wondering your thoughts about implementing a spot at the end of the handle for the bits you change on a screw driver and other things. The end that goes into the handle looks like the Allen hex/ squared off, but the other end is a multiple of thing like slot, Phillips, torx, hex etc etc you could have a little multi tool. You know the fire striker kit maybe more suitable for the idea. You can't use the LS to take it's own handle off. Probably not worth the effort but I don't see the harm in bringing it up. Would it be hard to inlay the end of the striker rod to put in the bit.
 
Taking the handles off has been solved for a long time....
 
Flat Washers with Lanyard to use on the slotted brass screws , that has been taken care of ,this is a proto type LS

Thank you bro. Btw I don't know if this is original or a if it is a mod, but I like the zipper on the pouch of the Ops Sheath!!
 
that is an original Spec-ops survival sheath , discontinued a few years back due to cost of stretchy material to make pouch.
 
Washers....... Washers..... Really washers...... KISS I like it. Now just put a file to one side and you have an additional striker lol I only post these "ideas" cause it could lead to a "real" good idea. It is just to get the brain going not to be the guy standing over your shoulder while your doing something tell you "if you were smart you would....." I hate that line. I wont post any more ideas for a few days. Haha
 
Do you know anyone making a similar sheath. I love the looks and the room of that one. I need one.
