All of these have red leather scabbards. There has been enough Western influence in Nepal to teach the kamis that red and Christmas go together so somewhere they ferreted out some red leather. I got a kick out of that.

top -- 32 inch 44 ounce Tibetan sword by Bura & company. Beautifully done Chiurwa horn handle. Scrollwork on steel guard. Blade very well done, magic stone + finish. Edge near 60Rc and sharp. Excellent Christmas scabbard and frog by village sarki. Christmas gift price -- even $200.

no 2 -- 35.5 inch 52 ounce Tarwar by Kumar. 10/10 effort. Beautiful glow in the dark saatisal chiruwa style handle with pommel. Blade evenly fullered full lenth -- good job. Good hard edge but needs 10 or 15 minutes to get it razor shapt, magic stone mirror + finish, straight and clean. Christmas scabbard. Christmas gift price -- $225

no 3 -- 35.5 inch 49 ounce Tarwar by big brother Sher. Same as no 2 except has buttcap rather than pommel. 10/10 work by Sher. $225

bottom -- 35.5 inch 56 ounce Tarwar by Kumar. Same as no 2 except horn handle and buttcap. Another 10/10 effort.

Sword experts tell me these swords are worth $500. I think they are in the $300 range but what do I know. However, that aside if anybody gets one and feels it isn't worth the money send it back. I'll pay return postage and send you two kagas katnes for your trouble.

Call or email.

What a beautiful selection!! Alas, I can not possibly buy one of these, for if I did, the Four-Dragon Katana would be made jealous, and the queen of my castle would be made displeased.

Bill,

They are beautiful. :D

And best of all I already have one coming...mine, mine, mine. :D

A kind hearted forumite sent $100 to the kamis for a Christmas party a little while back. Maybe the kamis are trying to respond in kind.

Oh my...

Swords are my weakness! They all are wonderful...

arrrgghhh!@$!*&!@ MUST resist temptation...

TOO much debt...

I'd be okay if the postal lady would have dropped off my WWII today... sniff... but she just drove by without even a glance at my mailbox ... sniff, sniff...

I can't look any longer...

Merry Xmas everyone :)

Email sent on Tibetan Sword...

I am gonna be soooo broke, but I can't think of a better way to do it!

*Crosses fingers*

:D

Geezer...?

I did try to warn you... I really did.

Hope your holidays are safe and happy.

Out of respect for your joy, I won't call the Canadian Government and tell them you have that...are you allowed to say, "woohoo" in Canada?

There was a picture in the Press Enterprise of Riverside Calif of a Canadian admiring his Browning lever action rifle. He said he had no intention of registering it by Dec 31 and would rather face jail. He looked like a nice guy. I hope he doesn't have to go to jail.

congrats on your blade, Phil. My six year old has been gazing at the picture in fascination. My Mother in law informs me there is no place for a sword in my home..which was almost enough to get me to buy one.

I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me with Khukuris from HI, and used to happen with firearms all the time. There's no sense telling anyone about it unless it is a forumite or a gun nut. Any one else would think you'd lost your mind, or were kidding about the disapointment and lost feeling...no sympathy in this world. She didn't even glance at your mail box! Geeze.

This one is gonna be just as hard to wait for as that first 15” AK. It’s already like an itch that I just can’t quite reach. Oh well maybe I can get it when my WWIIs arrive in the meantime. ;)

How did I wind up getting a sword? Oh yeah: it’s you guys and yer gall-danged HIKV. Now I got it too and I suffer every time a thing of beauty passes before my eyes. I blame Uncle Bill and BirGorkha too, for supplying me with all that wonderful cutlery, and for being so darned nice. :p

I didn’t heed your warnings. Now look at me: I’m surrounded by finely-made, hand-crafted tools…

Woe is me.
:D :D :D

More seriously:

Our government announced last week that they had spent over 1 BILLION dollars on our farsical gun registration scheme. Allan Rock, the justice minister at the time, had promised that it would only cost $85 million. Now the idiot was quoted as saying he would ask the government for more money to continue the program. Also, would you believe that before this scheme, all of the handguns and other restricted weapons were already registered?

I can’t help but wonder how much 1 BILLION dollars would help our beleaguered health care system. How many MRI machines could it buy? Could it cure a disease (even cancer?)? In their words, “If we could only save one life…” Well we may have just spent away the opportunity to save hundreds, if not thousands of lives.

I hope they will scrap the program in the new year. No sense throwing good money after bad. Perhaps the instigators of this legislation would better serve my Country by working at less important jobs. ;) Edit: Is 'prison b!tch' a job?

Merry Christmas everyone! I am off to dinner with my family.

God bless you and give you Peace.
Phil

It could be worse. ;)

You could have never met us and have none of the excellent cutlery that you have now. :(
