Last 4 Christmas gifts from BirGorkha. Pix and gift prices.

There was a shooting rampage in Germany last April. Germany has all the measures cried for in the US by the misguided; training, official hunter training and more training, storage provisions, quite severe, registration, background checks...the authorities say they have 10 million registered weapons, and 20 million unregistered.
Congrats again Phil. I envy all you Tarwar holders. It just looks like my kind of sword. I'm not a Katana guy. I'm a hacker.

My Mother in law informs me there is no place for a sword in my home..which was almost enough to get me to buy one.

munk,

What..

Mother in Law would be out in the cold faster that she could think about it if she would have said that to me.

The correct statement would have been "There is no room for Mother In Law's in the home". :D

Mine has many Opinions...why, I do not know.

Ankerson, I measured a Christmas wrapper tube last night, and by folding down an end only 1/2", made it the same length as one of these Christmas Tarwars. These things are huge! These are not like the 29" short sword models.

I have little idea how a 52oz to 56 oz, 35.5" sword compares to say, King Arther's, but a horde could sweep through a village with these and not leave a stick standing. The weight per oz of blade was closer to 2oz than the normal Tarwar being around 1.74 per inch so. ( I did the math last night but didn't write it down.)

Merry Christmas, (almost time for me to start the toy train around the tree.)

I guess I'll have to get a few bricks and make a forge so I can use the charcoal the kamis sent me for Christmas.

Uncle Bill, do the Kamis send you gifts sometimes? Did they send coal this year?

The train has a short in a wire. It was never used, stored in someone's attic for 10 years. It ran around the tree once and quit. I spent over an hour on it last night. I had the wire delicately held by tape in the exact position where the train could work. We left a note for Santa not to disturb the track or train.
He didn't. But the train quit anyway. The boys have other things to do. No one is broken hearted. Though playing Christmas music last night I discovered I'd blown one of my speaker's out, probably last month playing Lennon's first solo album, the one with all the distortion. I'm not happy about that. Things break at surprising times. They don't break when you expect them to. It is very strange.

munk,

They are big for sure, but that is what I am counting on. :D
Can't wait to get mine. :D

I will post exact lenght, blade lenght, handle lenght, etc when I get it.

munk,

That was a Broad Sword, they were like 45" long and 5 LBS. There is a huge difference in weight and lenght.

80 Ounces = 5 lbs

to

52 Ounces = 3.25 lbs

Excellent and nice swords Amu Bill, very nice pieces indeed. Maybe I can join ranks and assure as a sword enthusiasts that these pieces are really really nice.

Regards

Manoucher

Ankerson, I tried to figure out how much a Katana weighs but couldn't on the shopping site or home site. The pages of review are no longer available in the Blade forums. Bill probably needs to know that.

Basically, a lighter sword is faster than a heavier. I was wondering where that put these extra size Tarwars?

If one doesn't collect swords, what would you do with a 35.5" Tarwar?
(besides public beheadings. I mean)

Merry Christmas

Munk,

Katans usually weight around 28 to 32 ounces.

If you have kids..(Girls) they would be great to put the fear of god into the boys they date. :D

So a Kantana is faster but these Christmas Tarwar's stronger.

You've been great, Ankerson. You and others here, like N2sharp and Firkin and Mann know many many things. Heap many things.

I have three boys.

Don't worry though, they'll be nice boys. Heavily armed, well read, nice boys.

munk,

Katans are very fast, and if they are real..(Folded blade 1000 folds or so) they are very strong for sure.

I have picked up alot of info over the years from experts and from doing alot of research.

munk,

One very important thing to remember about Katans are ment to cut flesh, not trees, branches, chop wood, etc.

The Tarwar is between a Katana and a Broad Sword, heavier and stronger than a Katana, but lighter and faster than a Broad Sword.

Could these Tarwars do that?

Yes they can. :D

I made that statement because while the Katanas are strong they weren't ment to be beaters, and sword to sword contact against a broad sword and armor they fail very badly.

A Tarwar would do much better and smash a Katana to bits.
