As some of you might know we are closing on a house very soon and the new place does not have a shop. We will be building one as soon as the ground thaws and building kit is delivered. What this means is that 15n20 will be put on hold till I can get set back up. I am currently booked solid for knife orders up to the move so this will most likely be the last 65lb box of 15n20 you will see for awhile. I am only selling one box and the reasion is because I have my heart set on a chunk of walrus Ivory from another forum member here. Being that the new house and shop is sucking up all our saving and extra cash this one box is the only way the wife would let it fly. I'm glade she keeps me grounded or I would be homeless living in a storage unit, but think of all the tools I would have lol.

If your not familiar with my boxes of steel here is the details.
Each box is over 65lbs of 15n20 Uddeholm strip steel that is .090 thick. It's cut from large band saw blades with a hardness of around 42-43rc. You get 10 sheets that mesure 23.5x11.5, I cut the sheets larger then this so thy fill the box fully. Last sheets I cut I think actually where 24x11.75, thy just barely fit in the flat rate box. The last box I sent topped the scales at a whopping 69lb 11oz, the post office lady could not believe it. Any way the price is $250 plus $25 shipping, We take check, money order and PayPal. If you would like to use PayPal we ask that you cover the fee or send as a gift. I normally ship within 1 week but being that I have a full time job it can take up to 2 weeks depending on what is going on at the time.

I would like to thank all the many people that have bought steel from us in the past. Your business is greatly appreciated and has helped move the shop forward into somthing greater then just a hobby. If you have any questions let me know, thank you guys.

Here is a few pictures of orders in the past so you can get an idea of what your going to receive.

If your on the fence about getting a box I would highly recommend it. The steel gets razor sharp and is not too tricky to

heat treat. I have done about a dozen drop point skinners with this steel and the feedback I go from the clients was all

great. The price is also a lot lower than other sources as well.

I can not recommend the 15N20 from Jarod enough. If im not mistaken, i was the first customer for a box of it, and it is amazing material at an honestly unbeatable price.

The steel is incredibly clean, takes an insane edge and is easy to heat treat. The price is nearly half of what you would pay for standard 12N20 stock, and the sheets are so wide there is almost no waste since you can cut out several large kitchen knives out of a single piece.

Someone has to jump on this.

How are you straightening these blanks? Thanks

I'm not understanding your question. Knives made from this material usually come out of heat treat rather straight but if straightening is needed it's rather easy to do by clamping it to a straight bar of steel and tempering. Comes out nice and straight.

JT: sorry for being inarticulate. The stock has a natural bend to it from being a bandsaw blade. Do you straighten at this width or cut pattern and straighten before heat treating?

There is a slight bow to it but easily fixed like any stock you get that has a bow. If it needs straightening you do it on the profiled blank.

JT, can you send me a pm with your address? I'm happy to get you a check.
