The HG-55, SFNO and many others just seem a bit unbalanced to me (visually). I have the Luxury of being vain. there are many Fine knife makers out there.
No Busse will ever compare to the balance and ergonomics of a custom Bagwell, Knight, Foster... ETC ETC ETC... But this DSSF balances nearly in the 'Right' spot for me to be used as I would one of these customs and I do like the looks of it. It reminds me of a large satin jack.
My only critiques would be:
-It needs some tapering in the handle and along the blade.
-I love the handle and the smoothing of the edges. It is very comfortable and sturdy in my hand. It does not want to roll.
-with such a thick edge there is no need for the saber grind.
-Perfect blade length. ( Longer the better though )
-needs some recurve...(this will come with use and sharpening) It reminds me of a bayonet.
-it is heavy... for a "fighter" It's quick but a 12inch bladed Bagwell is ALOT faster.
- Clip point/ sharp swedge is always a nice addition but this will stick a hog very well.
cheers.
