I took the kids up on a hike on Grant County Rd. 60 in Colorado, also known as Hall Valley. It was quite a rough and tumble mining town about 130 years ago, now it's just beautiful. It's also an access road to get to Red Cone Pass, a hair raising 4 wheel drive trail, or a nice steep day hike, which ever you prefer.

There was a lot more snow than I expected, so we didn't quite reach our destination, but it was still beautiful, so no worries.

We came across a tall pine that had split, a large portion of it cracked off about 7 or 8 ft. above the ground. You could smell turpentine 10 yds away, and the pitch was a pyro's dream!

Here's my version of the Nessmuk trio. Vic Farmer, CS Large Huntsman, and Swamp Rat Battle Rat.

Enjoy!

How do you like that CS Large Huntsman?

I really like it! I usually edc the smaller one, but the bigger one works well in the woods. I thinned the grind out a bit, and the full flat, along with the Carbon V, work great together. It's a little big for me in a jeans pocket, but fits well in a Carharrt side pocket.
