Last Days of Summer

Still lots of warm days left down here!

Looks good phillll! We have turtles here too. They even have turtle patrols that drive up and down the beach in ATV's looking out for them.

Wonder what a fella has to do to qualify for turtle patrol. I think that might be my calling. I could do that.

Don't cha think I could do that. I can see it now Lt bawanna, turtle patrol. I decided to start at the top and work my way down, started at the bottom all my life and seemed to stay there, need to aim higher.

Might have to hold off on my application as Wal Mart door greeter (we're getting one in town here, should open next month). Always thought that was my calling but this turtle patrol thing sounds way more better to me.

Evening view off the porch-leaves are changing and it's been in the 30's a couple nights already

Now that's a view! I live in the Boston area and views like that are hard to come by. I am planning on moving to New Hampshire soon, deep into the woods would be ideal. Its just so hard to make a living unless you are near the city in my line of work. I pray that some day I can have a view like that. God I need to get out of the friggin city and start living.

DMC, I can't be certain but from the picture it Appears you might also be a goofy-footer? or is the illusion Bawanna mentioned confusing me with your foot placement too. Great pic though.

Love all these pictures, for me the end of Summer this year has meant a downpour of rain. Last few days have been nothing but wet which is unusual as we normally have a late summer and this is usually the best weather we get. Hopefully we can get this little soggy mess past and get on with the beautiful early fall we are used to around this area. I have the same problem GB, I would LOVE to be able to never see another city again, but then I might have trouble making money to pay for khuks and ect.

Lol Sharvu, I guess we are both bound to the horrors of commuting and traffic. I am a IT Specialist, I would go broke if I moved into the woods. I don't think there would be many "network" or "TCP/IP" issues in the White Mountains. That is where I would love to move to but I will have to wait till I'm sick of making money and ready to breath easy for once. The rat race is killing me slowly but surely.

Just a little fall showers Shavru. We needed some moisture. My place was just burning up and dust a foot deep.

Little damp again this morning. Need to start wearing me rain bonnet. I get one drop of water in the hearing machine and I'm out of business till it dries out.

I commuted downtown from Lynnwood, Bothell, Monroe for about 12 years. Never again. My dream is a big enough place with neighbors far enough away that I can shoot whenever I feel like it. I can still shoot legally but if I do the neighbors will whine and then I won't be able to so I just pop a round now and then, usually testing a fix.

When I got hurt the state councellor's figured learning computers and getting into IT was the best plan for me. I told them quite firmly that I'd rather pump out septic tanks with a straw before I get into computers. Probably be a lot better off if I'd done computers but I weren't meant to be no computer person.

Turtle Patrol/ Iguanna Patrol Specialist! What a job. Best your able to tell the difference between a turtle and an iguanna tho? Probably have to have a PHD to get that job too.
I drive almost 100 miles a day so I dont have to live in the city. Sure will be nice when I dont have to do that drive anymore. I cant seem to get away from computers myself. Ive been in the business since the oilfield crash in the mid eighties and still doing it. I dont have enough Khuks in my 401K plan yet so guess Ill keep doing it for a while:(

100 miles a day sucks really bad. I now drive right about 16 miles round trip.

When I was looking for a job after the wall thing that was one of my items on the check list. Close by.

Told the occupational therapist I wanted to be a property and evidence officer for Monroe PD. They said that can't happen, not enough job market and really no course of study they could support to pay for that. So I came down on my own and told em what I wanted and volunteered for a year.

Hired me as Property and Evidence officer of the Monroe PD, imagine that? Close to the 20 year mark now.

Course even Monroe ain't like the big city but it's getting worse every day. People live in a great little town and they want to make it big. Not always happy with what they get.

You went ahead and made it happen. I admire that.

I got very lucky. We had a really good chief at the time. I was in state limbo, where they want to train you to do something. I couldn't make any money since they were paying me pension while I learned to do something.

Chief wanted to hire me but I told her it was best to just keep me as a volunteer since any pay had to go to the state.

She told me to just sign off on the state and she would pay for any needed training and fix anything in the building that needed fixed to make it work for me. Didn't have to do much in that respect but I was glad to write the state off.

Bawanna,, I definitely can see you on turtle patrol,, although don't get any ideas of checkering any turtle shells now,,, unless there is no harm done of course :) because that would certainly be kinda cool.

Hey did I mention I am a photoshop wizard??!! OH! another cat out of the bag....
C'mon y'all.. you think I would really attempt even paddling out with HI steel in hand? No way Jose! way too dangerous for me and everyone else but I thought it would be cool to entertain everyone with some comedy.
Shavru, I am a regular footer.. this shot is while moving to the nose.. the ol' cross step,,, the dance.

Hey everyone,, Happy Autumn :)

Well you sneaky conniving little trickster you. That's one thing I always wanted to know how to do was monkey with pictures.

I get frustrated pretty easy though. I get used to how photobucket works and then they upgrade and I'm a dumb arse again.

Same here at work, get a system working, convenient and handy and they get a new system, pass the Advil........

They said you get to shoot Iquana's? Thats like a giant lizard right? Do I get to shoot people that mess with the turtles? Just curious. Does the state pay for ammo?

Well here they are Bawanna! I knew I had a pic of them somewhere. It takes two of them! Ill see if they have any applications. We could do that job man:thumbup:

Tillamook white cheddar. YUM a favorite of mine. I love it in an omlette with dungeness crab and green onions. Best breakfast ever!

Yeah Bawanna, I can see you riding up in that little red scooter them turtle folks are in and asking. WHat you doing with those turtles? What? Speak up or I am gonna have to shoot you! Damn it I TOLD them they needed to speak up, now I gotta fill out the forms for more ammo!

Today was a decent day for most of it wasn't it? I went out and bailed out the back of the pickup truck, LOL Hubbies cover thingy blew off sometime last night.

At the risk of sounding like a wise ass, iffen you park them pickups nose up on a slight grade, that water runs out the back all by it's own self.

It's like a gravity thing or something. Why you see dump trucks parked with the boxes up a little bit. Kind of a run off sort of thing.

What's with this pickup of yours that holds the water in so bad?

This is an ambidextrious pickup. Ford made them back in 1977. They have holes drilled through the bed so water drains out in the event something like that does happen. That waya you can have your fung shwa and eat it too.

Yep Shave that Tillamook is the best stuff we can get around here. I see a few onion buns in the pic so that means we had pork cheeseburgers on onion buns. Common beach breakfast. Man i wish we had them dungeonous crabs here. They are sooooo good! You can get them here but you gotta pay out the yang for them because they are usually live. We do have blue crab though and they are very very good.

LoL, it is a parking thing Bawanna, The truck gets parked between the house and the fence. It is so close together and the way to get the truck there it can only be backed in. Can't cut the corner enough going in front first and that puts the bed at the wrong angle for draining. I don't want to drill holes in the liner and bed just more places to rust through on a truck that old LOL. So still working on a cover that doesn't turn into a sail LOL.

NDog, I love the taste of the blue crab, but man you need a lot of them for a meal. tiny little buggers. Those pork burgers sound like an excellent breakfast lunch OR dinner.
