Last Fixed Blade You'll Ever Own?

Busse needs to put out thinner blades. Until then I can't remain exclusive to Busse.:(

I see no reason to buy a chopper or heavy use knife from anyone else though, Busse has that area covered.

My sentiments too. Just ordered my first Dozier because it's .125".

Still waiting on the Anorexic Assault Shaker and the Anorexic Boss Street.... :p

I still own customs, and productions by other makers. BUT those are all GOING OUT the door little by little. I prefer Busse Combat over any and all others. There just isn't any thing better out there for me, pure and simple.

It has already been said but bares repeating and that is "Busse Combat is the place for me".

I'm with Guyon and GregS. But that said, I'm basically an INFI or H1 fan, and I really need to pick up a smaller Busse, like a Culti.

The last fixed blade I will ever own? Can't promise that as a lot can happen in a lifetime.

The very last one I would sell/part with, YOU BET!!:D (just don't ask me to pick which one )

Lot of nice knives out there. All of my non Busses have been discontinued though.

Got an old Gerber Magnum Hunter. Cracks me up, supposedly it was a BIG knife in it's day but it's 0.125 thick and ~5.5" edge. Chrome plated M2 steel from what I hear.

Cold Steel SRK, CarbonV (50100B supposedly) put together by Camillus in the USA.

Camillus Air Force Pilot's Survival Knife. Nuf said.

Ontario/RAT Rat-7 collectors edition, satin D2 and ram's horn handle. A very nice user despite a lot of cosmetic issues on mine.

Oh, and a bunch of Spyderco Mule teams which I guess are discontinued too, in a sense.

There are just too many different designs out there for me to be monogamous. Both production and customs.

I can say, though, that I have not bought another brand fixed blade in 5 years.

When I first discovered Busses I thought I would not buy anything else again. Since then in addition to several Busses I now own a Seigle and an Okuden. I found that Busse was an introduction into the semi-custom knife world. Like a gateway drug if you will.

Maybe for production knives but way to many great custom makers out there

I concur,,,:D

For me, Busse (including SR) rules the 6+" knives. SFNO, HR, SHSH II and the RatManDu dominate my collection in this category. However, I really like ESEE and especially Bark River in the under 5" category.

If Busse would bring back the ABA (or one of you Hogs want to sell me one:D), then I might reconsider that opinion.

Production Busse is it for me. I think they r the best.

I really respect and admire all the work and talent it takes to create a custom knife. I will continue to explore the custom world.

Folders are another story but you asked fixed blade :)

INFI steel is awesome, but the blades are overbuilt. I prefer other options for carry/use, but will continue to invest in Busse offerings.

OVERBUILT:eek:-never!!! I liken that to going for a walk up here and you look down on a trail to find Bear Crap steaming and all you have on your person is a .22 Pistol. Give me OVERBUILT anyday!!!

I guess it all depends for what different people use their fixed blades.

Mine are mostly used for hunting related purposes, so that's the qualities I look for in a fixed blade. Busse's aren't the greatest skinning knives,IMO, though they may have a winner in the SAR3.

The SAR5 would be my next choice, but it's a bit big for anything smaller than moose or bison.

I still like my Barkie's for skinning, especially caping, though the edges are very fragile compared to Busse.

As a chopper, the BWM is nice and works well, but the cheap Brazilian machete's also work well, but it's not the same feeling holding one.

That said, I haven't bought anything but Busse's for a few months now. As far as steels are concerned, INFI is spectacular.

If we're talking swords and such, the Gladius and AK have no peers!!! :D

I have a weakness for thin semi-skinner patterns. Other than that, it's Busse all the way.
