Last night my large regular saved my life

Also, sebenza in its leather pouch is no quick shooter...

I keep a flipper in my car for that reason.

Im Amazed at what this world is coming too. I'm disgusted.

Glad your okay and that you had your Sebenza with you.

Glad you weren't hurt in the process. Did the cops bother to investigate? Sounds like this type of thing is too routine where you're at to bother with every incident.
Also, in response to one of the previous posts, police can only do so much to keep streets crime free. In the end, if the community as a whole decide they want the scumbags gone things will inevitably start to change.

I am originally from Northern California and had a lot of friends in the Modesto/Turlock/Manteca area. Used to spend quite a lot of time there. At the time I was a LEO and always had a .357 nearby, though I never had to even draw it. Now I live in the free state of West Virginia where an honest citizen can legally carry. Not much crime here...

Glad you made it out ok. Perps like that are looking for an easy mark. Drawing the knife made you less easy, though it is pretty lucky you were not shot.

Holy crap! That is a crazy story. I'm glad that you are ok. That is one of the many reasons I have a knife on me at all times except for when im in the shower or in bed. But when I'm in bed I have my m&p compact .40 cal and sebenza on my night stand. Did the good guys end up getting those bad guys?

I have a appointment coming up for a ccw but I have already waited 8 months. I guess you have to wait in line to do the right thing. God bless sheriff mims she really cares about safety of the good citizen.

were the perpetrators colored?

...

Anyway, glad you're okay man! My pepper spray wouldn't have been a good idea in that situation. I started carrying it after a banger threatened to take my car. Btw, you don't need to be in a bad area to have bad things happen. Not by any means. I've seen a guy pull a gun and fire shots at another guy on the good side of town.

I'm worried that my 25 might be a bit hard to open under pressure. The Contego would probably be better for that.

Make sure you keep your doors locked at home. I hate to be paranoid, but with your wallet they also have your address. They were probably looking for a quick opportunity and wouldn't make the effort, but I'd still be concerned if it were me. Glad you made it out safely!

I thank you for the comment but in all respect I don't want to stereotype any race as the cause of any thing that I went through. there are good and bad in all races. things like this always end up in hate.

This is exactly what i was thinking and would be worried about, but i didn't want to post as it was the same day the incident happened. I hope you stay safe and they find the people.

I was shocked as I read your story, so glad you weren't harmed.
As I thought about your events, it struck me that your knife is worth more than your wallet (Credit cards easy to cancel - yet a hassle - as is getting another driver's license), and unless you carry several hundred in your wallet, they were shafted in the appalling event.

I'm not worried about address. It's like the song hotel California

On a dark desert highway?? Glad to hear you made it out ok! Sometimes all you need to do is make it appear as if you aren't an easy target. When I was 9 years old my mom and I were driving from Dallas to Wisconsin. When we hit Dallas, my mom's car got a blowout. We were on the side of the road and a person approached the car. I was just waking up due to all the commotion and my mom said to keep the door locked, this guy doesn't look very helpful (or something like that). I adjusted in my seat and kicked the but of a fake gun I had. It looked real enough, it was all wood and had bolt action. The guy saw that and said that he had to go, he couldn't help. HMM... I wonder what his true intentions were...

Hey guys I just wanted to share with you guys about what happened to me last night. First of all I never like to think of my knife as a weapon, it is a tool to improve your day to day life. What happens when your life is threatened. I was put in that position last night. I was parked eating dinner when a woman jumped in my car. She was a street person asking money for you know what. I am happily married and would not do this so I told her to get out. She told me that I needed money for my motel, and I gave her 5 dollars and told her just to leave and she said she wasn't until she got what she wanted. I noticed that there was 2 men and one man looking girl. She suddenly went for my keys in the ignition so I wrestled with her she was telling one of the guys to shoot me. This man was pulling out a gun, I took out my sebenza and told her to get out. She got out as soon as she saw the knife and I took off a 100 mph down the road than pulled over to a gas station and noticed my key was bent sooo far it almost broke. As I was driving the man did shoot one shot at me missing my car. When we were struggling with the keys she took my wallet. I believe if it wasn't for my trusty sebenza I would not be writing this to you my friends. I would not want to hurt anyone but I felt my life was at risk. The sebenza opened flawlessly when I needed it the most.

Wow, glad your ok, keep your head on a swivel, always stay in surveillance mode.
Glad you and the family made it home in tact.

Glad you got through that without being harmed. As others said . . . find another place to eat and remember to lock your doors and windows!
