My hobby WAS rescaling blank blades, or modding existing blades.
I have gotten away from it as I no longer can be trusted around Power Tools. I stay a bit dizzy from a Stroke, some days better than others.
Anyway, I had 50 of these bull nosed Utility blades. They are made from 440c Stainless and hardened to 58-60.
I have scaled these with every kind of material imaginable.
When I quit using power tools, I had 9 of these left.
I decided to cord wrap the remaining and give away as gifts. No power tools needed.
I was saving these 3 for Xmas gifts, but my Spyderco Addiction has over extended me a bit. I am sure most of you know what I mean.
Wifey is a good girl, but she does have limits.
So, I am needing to sell these.
$25.00 PP and shipped lower 48.
I'll let the pics tell the tale, but the main particulars are:
1 Triple Orange. Cord, end piece, and kydex sheath (neck/pocket). $OLD
1 OD Green cord, black end piece and sheath. $OLD
1 ACU Camo cord, ACU gray end piece, black sheath. $OLD
The 1st I'll take X color gets it,
or take all three.
These Utilities are great for scraping, box cutting, envelope opening, making fire sticks, cutting food at camp, crafts, and survival tools. Strong enough for levering (stay away from the tip, like MOST knives), sharp enough for whittling, push whittling, etc.
Great for bug out bag and camping gear kits.
Wear as a necker, or take off neck lanyard and carry in the back pocket.

Wrap was put on wet, so is very tight. I also grooved the tang to retain the cord. The wrap isn't coming off under normal use. I also super glued the cord at the back hole to prevent it from loosening. But it can be pulled off if you need the cord for fastening something in an emergency.

One of my friends took it further and made a pocket clip for his. (Not for sale, obviously). This was one I did for a gift when i was still able to do this kind of work.

Rob, If you find anymore laying around let me know. They would make great cable splicing knives.

I have some more blanks that I may wrap after Halloween.
I also have one that I wrapped for myself, bu I have to have $30.00 $PF to suttond shipped for it.
It has Desert Camo wrap and neck lanyard, and my "BarS" slipknot for a wrist lanyard. This works as a bead to custom fit the wrist, then pull out to a tail when not used.
The cost is because the Desert Sand sheath material cost me more as it is thicker than the other sheaths, and the color was more expensive to get a sheet of.
If anyone wants it, let me know.
I have about 5 more blanks, but I am not sure if I am going to continue to wrap them.
Maybe next month, I'll put a couple more up, so watch for them.

Any chance I could get a couple of the blanks from you?

I am sorry but they are for Xmas gifts.
Let me see if I can get a few more and I'll PM you when I know. Maybe in the morning after I check to see if there's anymore left at my source.
I do have another one that is not cord wrapped. I will give you first chance at it. I am putting pix up in a minute, so hang on.

VANQUISH has 1st chance at this one!
Since I have had so much interest in these, here is one I made for myself.
It is a prototype and kinda rough. It is the same Utility but has a Bottle Opener ground in.
And instead of wrap, has a laminated wood polymer scales. Red back spacer and copper pins. An orange sheath and I will include a length of orange cord for a neck lanyard.
This has been laying in my kitchen utensil drawer and I have been using it to open my Sam Adams beer. Works great.
It is used, but in great condition. Has my logo etched in (blade turned away from the logo in the pic above). Smears and stuff on the blade is the orange Kydex.
Comes sharp as I also use it to cut "salad" for drinks and limes for Coronas.
$30.00 $PF to VANQUISH shipped for this one. EXTREMELY useful.

Quick question did you sink those screws for the pocket clip directly into the kydex sheath ?

I didn't do that one.
But, I did do this one.

here's more

pock1.jpgs1.jpg

same with this one

s1.jpg rs1.jpg

I ordered a couple of low ride pocket clips from Knife kits . com.
And a few small Chicago screws.
I then used a carbide rasp to open up the pocket clip screw holes, ground down the Chicago screws to give a tight cinch, and put 'er on.
I believe my friend used 2-56 BOLTS to put his on. I couldn't find the bolts, just the screws in the time I had to research, so I went with Chicago screws.
Hope that helps.
