I'm trying to figure out a way to appear to have a need for a stick knife myself. Be nice for hard to reach stuff.

Limping really isn't an option, that would be a major improvement.

I shall have to ponder this some more I reckon.

Yes, a reaching aid! A fulcrum if stuck? A rudder/paddle if it floods? A therapy stick?

Therapy Stick, I like that one. That word comes up from time to time whenever I'm around. I think there's one of the subliminal messages folks are trying to tell me or something.

The pictures show what look like screw threads between the blade and the bolster. Does the knife screw into the sheath? Someone who already has one should be able to answer this question.

Yes, a tapered pipe thread, I think 1/2" NPS. However I didn't check as I don't expect to hook it up to any plumbing.

Very nice, I think mine might be the grand daddy of them all.

53" OAL

Yours is huge! Mine must be the baby of the family. I do believe mine has the most brass though.

31.5" OAL, 17" blade, 8.25" handle

Mine is the right height for me, so it's all good.

Hey I could get a matched pair, put rubber tips on them to protect the end and use em like ski poles! 2 footers would probably work for me, I'm rather on the short side.

I like all that brass on yours cul. I sure wish i could grab this one! I better wait till my numbers come up first:D

Just so you know, cane knives/swords are illegal in many states. Know you laws before you go on a walk with one.

The way i look at it is they are only illegal if you whup them out but then again if you have to whup them out then who cares about the law. Long as your still alive;)

I have often said that you are only a troublemaker if you get caught making trouble;)

I have to admit that is one of the only things I would change if I was designing these. I would want the top and bottom to match around so it wouldn't be quite so obvious it come apart. With police officers you don't always HAVE to actually pull the blade out for them to figure out that some canes have sharp pointy things inside. Both my sword canes actually look almost exactly like my regular cane. Slight difference in the handle, not much, just looks like a slightly different angle but it gets the hook out of where it would hit your wrist using the sword part. But there is no noticeable place where the sword comes apart so someone would actually have to know it was a sword. These are awesome and I would still LOVE to have one and hopefully will someday. But not for actual use. The laws are pretty strict and while I wouldn't mind if I am alive because I used my sword, I would hate to spend time in jail because a cop wanted to look at my cane because it was obvious it separates.

Ms. Martino,

Is 13oz the weight of just the knife portion or the overall cane and knife? 13oz seems a little light to be the weight of all that wood, steel and brass.

I wouldn't use this item outside in public, way too flashy, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it comes apart, and that something is inside.

Like Shavru, I have a cane sword, that you would need a very discerning eye to even suspect it's a cane sword. Handed down to me from my grandfather.

The listed weight is for the blade and handle portion only.

I can do weights on mine for the sword/handle, scabbard, and then the entire piece together, later on today.
