bought direct from the late Bob Engnath -

finished Tanto - 13" total length - differential tempered blade - in bloodwood saya (sheath) and handle.

I like it! Purpose built. Does the temper line run out near the handle or is the image obscuring it.

Thank you - it's one of my all time favorites because of its elegance and the way the blade temper-line kind of "matches" that piece of bloodwood's prominent figure line


.....perhaps it may be hard to see on that scan/photo - but the temper-line does run all the way along the blade - I'm pretty sure into the "collar" -
however as with traditional Japanese blades - the (hidden) tang is actually of a different (much softer) temper.
