Maybe I'm overreacting so before I show photos and ask for an assistance in keeping an eye out for these let me say:

• SENT by USPS Priority insured (value showing on the label )

• Tracking said it should have arrived Thursday at the latest.

• Each day since, new tracking shows it is stuck in southern Maine going between facilities.

• Could be delivered Monday, of course, but in the meantime they could also be stolen and on eBay or others, by now. o_O

I am overreacting? There is the C19 factor to consider.

I have NEVER had such issues with a postal package. FedEx & Ups - different story.

Thanks for advice.

Things have been very wacky this last week with USPS, missed scans and slow movement has been pretty common lately...I'd hold out hope still:)

I just had a package with USPS go off tracking radar. Then it showed on tracking in sent to state, then local post office. Yes it was a day late even , sent priority mail took 8 days

OK - thanks. I'll take a deep breath (or 2) until a week has passed.

In contrast, a shipment from Montana to Maine, sent on the same day as the others, arrived 1 day EARLY  Actually that added to my angst as it confirms my good service from the postal system. This one is an aberration.

If your really concerned , I went one town over to PO. Cause that one is much larger than my home towns. The supervisor was very helpful in pulling up any additional tracking info they had. But my package was off radar awhile. Also my text alert updates didn’t show all updates. I had to keep checking tracking manually.

I have had several packages be a bit late or go through some crazy scan progressions in the last few months, even had a couple delivered before they showed "out for delivery". I'd try to be patient a few more days past or if they go off grid with no activity ... hopefully it shows up for you first part of next week.

It's showing you new tracking everyday? Stolen? ... yes you're overreacting

My business (nothing to do with knives) ships thousands of packages each year with USPS. They usually do a good job, but I have seem a few shipments get delayed. The behavior you are describing (the package bouncing between facilities) indicates that the package has not been stolen. Rather, it probably indicates that there is a problem with how the address was entered into the USPS system and associated with the tracking. This might cause delivery to be delayed by a few days or a few weeks.

I could be wrong. I am just basing my response on my experience. However, if it was my package I would not be that concerned. I would be annoyed and a little pissed off, but at this point not worried.

Good luck! I hope your package arrives.

I have had all sorts of delays and alot of weird stuff happen over the last few months with the post office. One package was no where near a distribution point or destination point and kept ping ponging back and forth between two processing centers for two weeks before finally moving out. A package lost for a month with no tracking scan beyond the shipping scan, then one day just showed up beat to hell. Generally for most, 1-4 day delays has been the norm with dozens of my shipments

concerned -yes
freaked out-maybe no
I just received today a priority envelope. that was mailed a month ago . It was listed in transit forever, then eventually started moving again. I have defended USPS for years, but they have gotten very sloppy lately. I am sure the virus plays a part, but it doesn't explain it all IMO.
Good luck

A timely concern as I have almost the exact same thing going on with a USPS delivery. Package was supposed to be here Thur., then yesterday, then just showed 'out for delivery'. I expected it today and checked the tracking again and after a week 'somewhere' it's finally showing in the local big city and now it's 'out for delivery to local facility'. It was shipped last Sat.(Pa. to Or.), looks like I won't be able to pick it up until Mon. if it's really on it's way here which I'm skeptical of at this point. My initial excitement has ebbed to the point I'm just hoping I see the damn thing someday.

One of my packages is listed as moving to the next facility for the past week and the facility is the PO three miles from my house. When a package with knives came yesturday it was day seventeen shipping via USPS priority in CONUS. My mail carrier said they are short staffed and its getting worse. Also they are not adding more personnel as they typically do during the holidays. Packages pile up at the facilities and the clerks who normally advance these are short staffed and short shifted. Also this time of year many take their vacations. There is a political element to this in that the USPS has not received the funding required to help with the problem so they are not adding staff. Meanwhile my two FK2 CPK knives off a preorder that shipped ten days ago from NC are stuck in a hub in my area and no
change in status for one week. For those of you that know CPK you understand how frustrating this is not to mention I have two beautiful Paul Long sheaths for them currently enroute also through USPS. One other thing of note a few packages that have arrived came with smushed boxes a strong indication that they are stacked on pallets awaiting processing as my mail lady stated. On a side note all my packages have arrived but looking more like three weeks as opposed to three days. It appears more rural locations that have less volume have better luck getting clerks to advance packages from building to mail truck. My outgoing shipments seem to do much better . i live in a metro area and an outlier at that, so incoming shipments are horrendous.

Longer shipping times and delays have become fairly commonplace.
About a month ago, I had a non-knife package end up in IL (I'm in NY). I forget the exact wording; but basically it was undeliverable because the street address didn't exist there. The seller had my correct address on the invoice; so i'm not sure what the screw up was; but I ended up requesting a refund due to nondelivery & did not reorder. (Yes, I could have redirected via USPS; but I wasn't willing to absorb additional cost, as the delays had already rendered the item useless to me)

I had 2 other deliveries this week. One arrived a day earlier than tracking suggested and the other 2 days earlier. I was being set up with unrealistic expectations  The history of mail delivery in Maine - for years - has been stellar. I guess I can take this one on the chin.

Will be a knock out though if it never gets delivered. There are 2 unique knives and sheaths that would be dreadful to lose - insurance notwithstanding. I shall not dwell on that possibility but rather take encouragement from the mostly good in the end stories above.

More on Monday. Tears on Tuesday. Much balder on Wednesday... ;)
