Or maybe early for 2009 :) Trick is also useful for birthdays, anniverseries,or any other gift giving occassion. I was looking for a way to safely open a few toys for my Son this past Christmas and I accidentally opened the "wrong" blade on my Leatherman Charge. Instead of the plain clip point I opened the serrated blade with the gut hook. Turned out nicely as I ended up using the gut hook to safely carve away the heavy plastic used to keep toys in their packaging :D Worked very well and was easy to control.......I know I am not the only one to bleed on Christmas past when a blade moves unexpectedly fast in the wrong direction  Try it out next time you encounterthose Ft Knox style blister packs!

Ha! Bill you read my mind. I use the guthook on my charge all the time for clamshell packs, it works great!!

I know it is sacrilege, but I use poultry shears for those heavy plastic packs. Cut just inside of the seam along the edge. Easy to control, easy to clean up (no plastic shavings), no blood, no cut up toys.
