We are planning our fall canoe camping trip in November. The dates are 8-12, 08. This is Veterans day weekend. All are invited. I have 6 extra canoes. First come-first get em. This will probably be on Long Pond in the Adirondacks. This is a beautiful, pristine lake. We do a short portage in (1/8 mile). The weather is usually on the cool side but we still have a great time. Anyone interested can contact me. We haven't advertised it yet and we have 8 so far. Still have 4 empty canoes or you can bring your own canoe. Any takers.

Marty,

I'm driving up Friday night for this one. I'll paddle in around dusk and see you guys at the site probably before sundown if I'm lucky. I can't wait to stretch my Wenonah's legs on this trip.

Hey Marty, do you take Nellie and Shadow with you on this trip?
I really would love to come along but have never taken my pooch Richard in a canoe. He's a fine swimmer and I'd get him an FD but I'm just wondering whether this is a dog friendly type of trip.

Theo,
We never go anywhere with out my dogs. This is definitely a dog friendly trip.
Hope you can make it.

Is this the "Long Pond" near Saranac Lake?

Desmobob,
Yes it is. It part of the St Regis wilderness canoe route. Sorry I took so long to respond as we just got back from a camping trip at Hawk Myn, Pa.

No problem! Unfortunately, I can't get the time off. Otherwise, I'd love to go along. My Bell Northwind has been hanging in the cellar all season, waiting to hit the water! (I did paddle my Mad River Eclipse and Bell Magic a few times....)
