I was so busy in december that i didn't manage to buy a knife for new year...and now i am overdue. The knife is to be edc...no heavy cutting - just every day stuff. it has to be aesthetically pleasing (yes, most of spyderco's aren't) The problem is that i am stuck in the choices...

1. MT CMTX 5
2. MOD Mark II (stealth)
3. MT Socom Elite (framelock)
4. BM HK droppoint
5. BM Miniskirmish

They all seem to be great knives and more or less in the same price range -and i seem to be unable to pick one. Any ideas? maybe an addition to the list?

How about a Combat Elite RRF? EXCELLENT knife!! I highly recommend it!

May I venture Kershaw Boa?
Pure beauty, to me.
Lots of useless holes, though. On the other hand, if you like Skirmish...

i have a cmtx 5. very solid lockup, thick lock, i have small hands and i would prefer it just a little smaller. a good cutter. i made the lock-cutout a bit larger, it was very hard to disengage the lock otherwise but now its perfect, i recommend it

I got a mini-skirmish LE for Christmas! Love it! (Though the thumb serrations do kinda shred your hand if you carry front pocket and need to get anything else out. Not a big deal though!)

It is indeed an excellent knife - and i own one. It is siplicity itself and the smoothest folder i have ever handled - damn this way i will talk myself into buying second one :D

thank you all for sound advice and good ideas. so far:
Mini skirmish: 3
CMTX5: 1
BOA: 1
RRF would have gotten my vote as well, but I own one already.
I am a little surprized that MOD Mark II got no votes - is there something wrong with that knife?

I have rather small hands as well - mini-socom is just right for me, and so is vector. How large is the handle on CMTX5?
