Late to the Party

I thought my Carrillo ( I forgot the model, picked it up at Blade 06-7 for $250) was the biggest beast of a pocket knife. But that thing felt like a 2lb block in your pocket. Through some sort of voodoo the 4Max is probably the perfect mix of business and comfort.

Is the Elite in CPM-S35VN vs the American and Italian in 20CV worth getting over the Scout with AUS10? Real world use, not recaps or “opinions” based off what was read somewhere.
Absolutely not worth it at $400 right now. You might as well buy the Demko AD20 if you can get one.

The question I ve had about the 4MaxScout is this. With the large Voyager having the same blade and handle materials, and being very strong at half the weight and about half the price, why get the Scout?
I like my Voyager.

My wife thinks I m a cheapskate.

Yep, they do!

Just recently got a 4Max Scout and #0ly $ht this thing is amazing.

I’m a bit upset I’ve missed the chance to get the CPM20cv at a decent price but this AUS10 is no slouch!

I’ve been carrying an old school 4” clip point voyager in Vg10 for years and this has just unpocketed the reigning champ. Hats off to Cold Steel for this one. And razor sharp out of the box, how ive missed that little touch with all these high end folders over the years. I can’t wait to put it through its paces when the occasion comes up.

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but this carries like a knife half it’s size and fits my mitts perfectly. Now I need a couple more for go-bags, kids, Monday’s, weekends ......

Tried to upload a photo, but I need to figure out how to make it smaller

Good Lord ! Now a 5 Max? Thanks for your impressions of the 4 Max Scout . I missed that one and my beady little rat eyes are twinkling at another chance for one, shipment dependent.

That's funny I was so close to ordering a clip point this morning I went back and forth. They are nice looking knives and would be my first Voyager in any fashion. If I hadn't purchased so many knives since xmas, man it's tough.

I think there may be a few enablers around here helping me cope with my issue. :p I'm still going to get a xl clip eventually though. :D
Thanks for the great pics folks.

The CS Folder Family....Old Voyager maintains permanent residency in the pockets, Clip XL stays with fishing bag (has had many roles from skinning fish, clearing limbs from the banks so I can cast, clear brush, make spears for the kids) Tanto XL stays on Go-Bag, 4 Max’s are moving in, AD10 just got here, but it’s sculpted handles are a bit tight for my paws...... has me rethinking the SR1s if they are same sized.

But I like the design, but...the 4 Max might be king.

I just looked and the SR1's have about a half inch more room for those big hands over the AD10. Check out some reviews online most all mention how much room their is for even wearing gloves and using the SR1's. I think you'll like them and Sorry about mentioning the AD10 it's a shame it doesn't work for you, such a nice knife. The AD10 would be nice in an XL version as well. If you want a thick bladed knife the SR1's are right there.
