Oh dear me! Just gotta wipe the drool of the keyboard. That is fanbloodytastic Mr Hanson. Thank you for showing. Coops photos, well it just doesn't get better than that!
Cheers Keith

That"s a beauty Don Some really cool stuff going on in that damascus and Jim caught every inch of it.

BEAUTIFUL!

My kind of knife. Fantastic damascus and very nice walrus.

Kind regards,

Jos

Love the steel patterns and the combinations of such. You are always so good at choosing which patterns to use together.
No mistaking this Bowie for any other maker's work.

Edited to add: that beautiful long and lean blade would look amazing with a substancial "S" guard!

While I'm not a huge fan of that style of knife, that damascus just is pure awesome; especially in that last pic! Fantastic job sir.

Pure greatness, Don. The guard....well from the perspective of a sheath maker, I think that straight guard is just RIGHT!;)

Pure Hanson, ---stretched out long.

Heard about this one the other day from Coop, and he didn't exaggerate!

siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick....

Thats a little too long for me, but WOW that thing is gorgeous. I'm intrigued by how the steel seems to be drawn out in different directions. And the ladder pattern guards are always my favorite.. is that even ladder pattern or just the same as the blade?

It does have a mean streak in it. Just in time for the 2012 Best Bowie contest. Nice one DHIII.

Yes Jon, the guard steel is a ladder pattern. The blade steel is 300 layers of 1084, W2, 15N20 and a touch of 203E, in a semi random pattern.

Thanks gents!

This one is a stand out. Love that blade...the length is great and the way the front half is sculpted is soooooo smooth.

As others have said, the damascus can keep you busy eyeballin' for hours. Do I see a Bad Piggie from Angry Birds near the guard?

I really hope this gets the Paul Long treatment and a pic is posted.

Coop, great job capturing the essence of the steel. Especially like the reflection of the blade in the guard in the last close up.

The year is ending with a Bowie bang! Fantastic piece Don - long and lean works for me.
