This Bowie is a bit different. The handle wood is stacked kiln dried Cherry wood. It should turn darker as time goes by to a rich red/brown color. The blade is 10-1/2 inches of DHIII W2 and the rest is stainless.

subtle and refined ,

I agree! I think the cherry was a great idea to use for the stacked look, it's tones are perfect for it. I like the touch of engraving on the spacer as well.

You seem to have Don's W2 down after seeing this and the one you brought to the ICCE show (One of these days I HOPE to see you develop a hamon with this much activity, it's looks wild! I do like the subdued look on this knife though. ;)

I've always been a stacked leather handled knife fan and this 'take' on the stacked design is fantastic!!

Thanks guys.

Bob, you made me feel great with your comment. Stepping back in time describes what I am attempting to do. I actually patinaed the blade lightly to give the impression of "old". I think this one will look better in a few years than it does new. Evoking a feeling of nostalgia can be part of the plan in designing a knife.
