I started this katana last week and finished it today. It is a 12:1 scale replica. All Koshirae (fittings) are the same as a full size sword. The blade was forged from W2 and hardened.Fittings are gold and silver. The mekugi is white gold, and assembles the tsuka as normal. Minuki is a snake. It is sharp.

Images are the parts and the assembly. In the one shot, you can see the light through the ana.

That is wicked sweet,
thy say smaller is easier but I think you are way past that and in a place where tiny means huge amounts of work and steady hands with powerful magnifiers.

Hah that is very cool. Wrapping the handle must have been like tying a fly.

The tsuka is wrapped with ito of two very small twisted silk cords. I created the wrap style to show the menuki. The tassel is also silk that I tied.
Habaki is assembled in the same fashion I make a full size one.

Here is something else I made yesterday .... Drop Point Hunter ear rings in gold and silver.
I always take three to five ladies knife items for the Harrisonburg show. I never bring any home. I make pendants, pins, earrings, etc.
I also take up a new batch of minis, too. I sell out whatever I take every year, now. I will have four to five new mini-swords, and a few mini knives. Prices range from $50 to $300.

I'm always amazed at how productive you are ! The quality is not forgotten and the detail is never missed. Great work Stacy !

There happens to be a huge market for high end miniatures at 12:1 which is what most dollhouse fixtures are.
A 12:1 katana on a stand whould bring big bucks imo if you advertise in the right place.
