My latest knife.

after posting my work and concluding that more fit and finish work was in order, i set out to change my ways a bit. I got a belt grinder from harbor freight and couldn't be happier, it bogs down a bit, but taking it slow produces a great flat surface and the price cant be beat. I made some black denim mycarta and it turned out great.
1080 steel from a harrow disk, forge, edge quenched, sanded to 400 grit showing quench line, tempered to 420* for an hour, re polished.
Any questions or comments, criticism, nasty remarks welcome :D

Looks great to me and I am sorry but, I can't come up with a single nasty remark. Oh yea the dollar bill is a bit faded.

is this also a forged knife like your first few vast improvement by the way not that the others where bad you just didn't know

Looks like a great knife- or at least one I wouldn't mind having! If you want criticism, the finish on the blade could probably use some work, but unfortunately, I don't know what it would be. Good work!

Looks good.

Its not always easy to see things correctly in pictures but here's my .02c

Looking at the knife, on the spine just forward of the handle sclae there seems to be a ridge, this may hurt the thumb during use. Also if you grind your blades down a bit more your sharpening line will be a bit smaller and give better cutting results.

There are some small details that require a bit more attention, but i am sure these details will improve as you go along. Looks like a nice design, well done.

it is forged.
thanks, i like my stamp too.
i forgot to mention i havent finished hand sanding it, and i dont know if i will, its going to be a hard user.
I did leave a few spots of scale because i like them, on a knife for sale id grind them out.
the thumb ridge is contoured and comfortable, with hatch marks for grip. it does look sharp in the pic though.
and thank you for noticing, i do need to thin it up a bit. it has more of a hatchet edge right now. the next one will get a few more passes on the grinder :) just didnt want to take too much on my first one, i hate flimsy blades.

Thanks so much to all of you, i really appreciate the feedback.

She looks like a nice user,Just keep trying to make each one better than the last and you will be doing really great knives before you know it...
