As most of you are aware by now I've been making use of my (limited) spare time to do machete modifications. My latest efforts have been focused on creating a large camp knife, and a big ol' golok-y chopper. So far the camp knife is finished and I'm most of the way done on the big beast, which is good since it's already spoken for! The camp knife should do excellently for food prep, fire, and shelter building tasks with equal aplomb. The blade gives excellent knuckle clearance when slicing and the weighted nose makes it hit hard for its size!

Work done on camp knife:
-Cut blade to shape
-Rounded spine
-Flushed scales to tang
-Smoothed and refined shape of choil
-Sharpened edge to a polished convex

Work done (so far) to golok:
-Cut blade to shape
-Rounded spine
-Smoothed choil
-Did preliminary rough filing to edge

Without further ado, here are the pics!

The testing photos will have to wait until someone buys 'em. I'm not roughing them up when they aren't destined to be mine, as tempting as that is! Thanks for the kind words though! :p

Great! Work has decided to block the pictures! :( lol I'll have to view them when I get home but the golok sounds particularly interesting to me. I just got a Martindale Golok and love it so I can't wait to see your modded one. You do great work on your mods from what I have seen

What blade did you start with for the golok? (if you don't mind me asking). :D

Thanks.

It started off as an Imacasa Canero Guapote model. The thing was obnoxiously huge but after chopping several inches off it I had a more manageable piece of steel. :)

They look pretty good. I am hoping whoever buys them posts them in use
