This one went to a great guy, and I'm thrilled he's happy with it. My new favorite steel, an 8" blade of Crucible CPM-4v in .275" thickness, mill finish on the flats (of course!), beveled spine, lenticular grind and just a touch of sori. At my friend Joey P's suggestion, I've been leaving the handles on these longer for improved positive grip and better control in the snap cut. I have a few requests for these that I intend to fill, a commitment to keep, and then there's going to be one for ME. I've carried various iterations of my 5" versions for long enough, and I think it's time to give something with a bit more beef a try.

Natural rayskin, aio menuki, cotton tsukaito. Hartsfield style aluminum sheath in awesome shark skin. Overall length is 13.5", with a 5.5" handle.

Thanks for looking, gang!

that's awesome. Looks like a hella fun air fighter, and family heirloom at the same time.

Beautiful knife and sheath. The ray skin adds a lot of class and the contrast is appealing.

A stunning piece, CPM-4V is amazing steel. I'm very impressed with it.

Wow! Very nice looking knife Matt.

Make one for yourself? Ha! That's what they all say, now back on that grinder! :D

Very nice! I like the natural ray skin, and the overall flow is perfect.
Darcy:)

Killer buddy.

Thanks, guys! The entire time this one went together it felt right. Just seemed to flow, from beginning to end.

Sammy, couldn't agree more, bud... NEVER seem to get one of my own knives, unless it's a ratty looking one, or a 'proof of concept' piece.

That's a winner. Joe is right about the handles. Remember way back when you made mine I had asked for (and you delivered!) some extra length as well. No doubt the lucky new owner will be very well pleased.

'they' say it's the shoemaker's children that go barefoot...
Looking forward to seeing *yours*!
