Layers.... I know there is a new knife under here somewhere!!

HaHa, I should have known. An old Camillus would fit you well, I haven't seen one of those in a long time. Not sure what happened to mine.

I know I am probably not explaining it very well but it is as if the old style piviot which in my humble opinion is the... center of attention on the orignal design becomes the Elephant in the room on the Star-Tac. So when you replace it with the new pivot on the Star-Tac the entire focus is changed. So, yea I concur!
All the best, Dave
I still dont care for the new package though.

Perfect! Bravo Dave...........'the elephant in the room' is exactly the notion I was trying to express.

Once again thanks for the side by side pictures and a beautiful knife you have there. I do love the zaan the most also. We are polar opposites in the knife world. You have many knives yet carry non, I have a few and in a two week period I carry them all. What a great place that we all can meet and share our passion how ever different they are. And on a side note my wife says you probably carry an Uzi and have no need for a knife, she always has some good comment.

You are 100% correct Bill!! I think we all have a great affection for this "Thing of ours" whether your a user of these fine knives or just a Collector as in my case.. we all have the same thing in common. I love the fact that many of my friends here carry and use their knives. After all that's what Chris builds them for!! And yes thanks to the internet and BladeForums we can all learn and share with each other.
P.S. Although my good friend and former fellow M.P. is correct I do sometimes carry my old Colt 1911A1 my EDC is a S&W Model 49. As with everything else I am old school. Don't really see the need to have more than five rounds at the ready.. and a speed loader or two in the coat pocket. ;)

I find the 1911A1 a tad bit large for EDC.. but it gets out once in a while.. :D Still my favorite side arm!! I like cold steel and a little wood on my firearms.. not much into this modern plastic stuff. "Aim small miss Small"

Uzi is too modern for him, he probably carries a WWII government issued 1911A1.

1911 is a great side arm. I carry a Kimber tactical pro II, one of my favorite pistols. I do agree they are a bit large but I just deal with it, kinda easy to deal with in a comfy holster. Anyways another great addition to your knife collection, congrats!

How 'bout a CRK with a CGG of a 1911 on the slab? That would be cool. Kinda like that trout-fishing one...................:D

Great score ,congrats Dave. Why I was not surprised when you said that it was another Zaan ,coming from Zaan Man :).Cheers.

Thanks Dargan!! I don't know what it is about the Umnumzaan.. I just cant seem to get enough!!:D
