Right now, I use a Dana Terraplane X hip belt and Lid pack(3day)lashed by 550'& 'biners to a MULE/Camelback. Supported by GI suspenders,
the Dana belt holds ALICE gear securely(2 M16 pouches and Nalgenes).Add what you need. It's lite,flexible and modular. Hope that helps.
