LC200N vs Maxamet

LC200N

Maxamet has low toughness, very low corrosion resistance, making it unsuitable for most "outdoor" tasks.

If you're sitting at home listening to ACDC shredding cardboard (no one? Just me?), maxamet is HARD to beat hehe. My para 3 maxamet still has factory edge, and I bought that when it came out.

Hope this helps. My default fishing folder is a carribbean in LC200N.

Of the two steels I would go LC200N because I know I would not enjoy sharpening something like Maxemet. I know that I would have to sharpen Maxemet less often for sure but for those times you have too it would suck.

It is kind of hard to answer the question. Both are good steels for their intended purpose. But it is like asking whether you like apples or peanuts.

I would choose LC200N.
It works great for everything that I could ask of a folder, and the peace of mind that it's never going to rust is just fantastic.
Yeah, it won't hold as keen of an edge for as long as the Maxemet, but sharpening LC200N isn't difficult at all.

Have a native 5 in LC200N and very pleased. Lots of fruit and vegetable cutting. Rinse in sink and wipe off. Touched up once on sharpmaker.
