LC's 3V Big Brother

I'm not sure if my NMFSH has mags or not. I bought it second hand. I don't want to derail your thread here, but maybe I can ask a question or two in your thread over there. Thanks for the response bud, and thanks for showing off the Sasquatch

Mangderrang! Poor 2x4. We know that the LC does petty good going through the blade sports course, just for fun it would be crazy cool to see sasy (my nic name for the sasqatch 😀) go through the course.

If this is inappropriate just say so but what does one of those cost? I haven't been able to stop thinking about getting one since this thread was made.

It's my understanding they're around $1,500.

A lot. Go see Dan. Ask Lorien about the sword Dan made for him. He's not the world champion for nothing.

I've seen a lot of it on IG. His stuff is awesome for sure.

That's beautiful. I could only wish to be able to afford one of those. For now I'll stick to loving my LC instead. Hopefully I'll get a HC eventually.

Yep, that's about what I paid. It's certainly not an inexpensive knife, but it's made in very small numbers, the attention to detail is very good, the ergonomics are great, and the quality is fantastic. It's worth the price to me, and I look forward to many years of use out of it. Of course, I feel much the same way about my LC.

^^^ I see a business opportunity here, ManofSteel - you buy one of those bad boys, then rent it out. Say a buck a swing. You'll have it paid for in no time!!

Not a bad idea. God knows we could never wear that thing out. It'll last 5 lifetimes I bet.

Can you tell us what the weight of your MOAB?

That Sasquatch is incredible, but that would be like hauling a Custom Shop WTF into the woods camping. Maybe I need to hit the gym, but out in the world... Light Chopper all day?

2# 8 oz per his Busse thread

Correct, thanks. The MOAB is 4 oz heavier than the Sasquatch.

I actually had 2 CS WTF's. They weren't for me so I sold them both.

Yeah, I've got the CS WTF and the BD WTF. I may let the go to make room / $$$ in the collection. Such a cool concept and knife but a lot of $$$ locked up in a blade I can't use that often.

You are a bad influence my friend, I have one (Sasquatch) coming
Well, perhaps they are not brothers, but there is quite the resemblance between the Carothers LC and the Keffeler Sasquatch. Both are ∆3V, both have TeroTuf scales with great ergonomics, and both are awesome blades. My Sasquatch just arrived today so I thought I would take a few comparison pics and post them up for anybody else that is also interested in both blades.

For those curious about the Sasquatch specs, it has a 13" blade, weighs 2 lbs 4 oz, and is 0.296" thick.

Awesome, I certainly don't think you'll be disappointed. I also happen to know you are not the only one to just get an order in, so I wouldn't be surprised if he sells out of his next batch rather quickly (although I'm guessing he probably always does). I was fortunate enough to talk to Dan on the phone for about 30 minutes this past week, he is a very nice and extremely knowledgeable guy. I'm hoping that I'll be able to attend one of his classes this coming year to improve my chopping skills.
