Does the factory issue new LE models at a particular time of year? When the new catalogue is issued? Calendar year? Thank you.

...No set rule.....It is catch-as-catch-can with the LEs. That provide any insight?

Let's not confuse special order knives for specific dealers with Buck's own Limited Edition offerings. There are basically two introductions of Buck LE models although their actual release can be spread out over a span of time (even months if they have supply or production issues).
The new annual catalog release coincides with the SHOT show where Buck introduces new products for the year, including LE models. Later, Buck generally has a mid-year release of a few new models that for whatever reason were not ready for SHOT show release or that Buck purposefully delayed. I have received mid-year LE knives anywhere from July to October (perhaps even into November) but usually they are distributed in late August through mid-October. I hope this helps answer your question.
