LE Sharp

Put me down for seconds, I'll take it. Great job on your sharpening job looks nice and uniform, and very Sharp!

I'll be a thorn in the side here, and butt in with the downer practical perspective.

You can tell absolutely nothing about an edge from a photo. A micrograph, maybe, but a plain old photo is about as useful as a kick in the shins.

I can easily put on a gorgeous looking mirror polished edge that can barely cut paper, and I can show you some terrible looking edges that will whittle hair.

The test of sharpness is how a knife cuts things, not how it looks.

That said, there is an art form to making an edge that looks even and consistent and nice. You seem to have done a good job of that. I can't judge the sharpness of your edge from here, but it looks like you kept a steady hand and kept it uniform, so that bodes well for the likelihood that you sharpened it up nicely.

in my opinion you should sharpen by hand but that looks great fella - like a machine did it !

Thanks and your right, I should be less hard on myself but that is easier said than done for me:o

I did sharpen it by hand:p But really, I find I have more freedom on a belt sander than any other method I have tried:thumbup:

MM, I hear you on that. It is sharp:thumbup: The question was not really about if this looks sharp, I know how sharp it is, it was more does this look well executed. So basically asking if anyone would have gone about it differently. Different angle, more convex. Dobywon picked up on the fact that it is not very convex from the first pic and that is actually something I wanted to get feedback on.

Basically, I have no question on whether I am getting these knives sharp, I know the answer to that. I just want to get input on my overall approach.

I really appreciate your honesty. That is what I am looking for, feedback without worrying about hurting someone's feelings. I have no ego or real pride when it comes to this stuff, I just want to get the best results possible for my prized INFI. They are my best fixed blades period and I want to treat them accordingly:)

I know that there are people on this forum that are much better at this than I am and I value there opinion. That is how I have gotten this far, from people that are better at this than me and are kind enough to share tips and tricks.

Thanks again!

if you are not going to use it, sharpening was a bit silly. Factory edge is what it's all about. If you're going to keep in then fine !!

it's a nice edge bro, what more is there to say
