I'm reposting a knife that I posted two weeks ago.

Up for sale is a Le Thiers model by Au Sabot, a classic French knife. The knife is gently used (food prep). I've sharpened the knife and stropped it, and I've re-profiled the tang so that the blade, which was proud, doesn't protrude out of the blade well. There are a few minor scratches, which you can see on the photos if you look carefully.

I paid about $100 (77 euros with shipping) and am asking for $85 shipped to your door. I accept Paypal. I'll ship internationally if the buyer offset the additional shipping costs.

I'll take $75, but I cannot reasonably take less. Surely there is a fellow francophile out there who needs a(nother) Le Thiers?

Does this knock the edge against the backspacer? With no kick, this is a problem I've noticed with many traditional French knives. Not a problem with Opinel (with the wood handle), but many Laguioles do this, even higher end models.

Good question! I have a le Garonnais that does that, but this one does not. It has a stop pin.

OK, JTB_5 JTB_5 , you hooked me. Francophilia and a love of traditionals (though this one's pushing the trad envelope, maybe) makes me want to try this petit couteau de poche. And here I am saving up for an Italian number when I get to Scarperia in September.

So I'll take it, Smaug!

Ha! Well you are welcome to it, sir! I think you’ll find it interesting and enjoy the extended tang opening.

Please share your email address so we can exchange information.
