Ya, others have given good advice. For USA made knives in the traditional style, there are only a handful to choose from, and they vary a lot in terms of price/quality. Case, Buck, Bear, Cooper, Daniels, Great Eastern. Of course if you get into custom level knives, there are 100's and 100's of USA makers to investigate.
For knives made overseas, there are endless options. Rough Rider is probably the best bang for little cost. Or maybe Swiss Army knives.
