Least expensive way to get my first Infi

Decent kydex? $25 to $35. But you can find many good deals here on the Exchange that come with a sheath. Diligence and patience...;-)

..... Diligence and patience...;-)

Agreed, well Ill see how it goes with the one and atleast I know what a fair price is now. I would like to get one with a nice sheath with it. If anyone else buys them please enjoy and post pics!!

That patience part is the tough one! While waiting, please investigate the Busse Bad Mojo site. And prepare to drool...;-)

Same boat, kinda. Watched, waited, recently found a SWAT, (My first Busse/Kin) fine shape w/ multi G-10, liners and a sheath for just a little over $300...thought myself lucky to have grabbed it...havent recieved it yet. Waiting.....waiting.

Whats the cost for a decent sheath for the Infidu. Can't have such a great knife and have the Infi be homeless.

Check out mashed cat or buy Brown they both are about the same price. Should be around 50 after shipping without tek lok

The thread title reads... "Least expensive way to get my first Infi"

I can't believe nobody has suggested the "Paint Your Wagon" tactic. All he needs is a shovel, a wheelbarrow and a little bit of mining knowledge and he could collect a BUNCH of INFI dust from under the compound (assuming they don't have anti-motion trembler devices scattered about like the Marines used on Alcatraz in "The Rock".

Dang, I watch too many movies.

The rest of the advice already given is pretty sound too I guess and would probably yield your first INFI a little quicker, cleaner and likely safer.;)

Another Busse noob question for you guys. The difference between a SwatMandu and a RMD? They looks similar.

I see the Swat listed as a Busse Swatmandu and the RMD as a swamprat.

I get that they are all the same family and if they are both made of Infi then steel is the same.

So what would the difference really that one is a Busse Swat vs Swamp RMD?

I ask this because there is also a "Busse Swatmandu" listed on exchange and was curious if one would be better then the other for some reason because one is a Busse vs SwampRat

Thanks again for the help, I will continue searching on here for the answer but you've been so helpful thought I'd ask

Swatmandus have Busse logo, fuller and a talon hole.
INFIdus have Swamp Rat logo and no talon hole.
Could be more differences but I'm been drinking and that's all I remember.

Thank you, thats all the difference I could find so far. Not that it is a big deal but I do like the talon hole. I enjoy tying up paracord so that could be a plus. The blood grove doesn't make a difference to me. I also found the below in another thread, it appears the finish could be different too. Is one version less produced then the other?

The INFIdu has a satin finish and was first released last year at Blade Show.
The Swatmandu has a double cut bead blast (DCBB) finish and the fuller.

Here is another link with pics of a side by side of the Swat vs Rat

Many fine Kydex benders here in the forum...I have a couple in Kydex as well as a couple in Spec-ops sheaths (medium spec ops are my favorites for this blade just a little heat to tweak the fit)

"I see the Swat listed as a Busse Swatmandu and the RMD as a swamprat."

There are 3 different Knives.......the original Swamprat "RMD" is SR-101 steel NOT INFI.

The INFIDU and SWATmanDU are both INFI.....INFIDU came from the Swamp.....SWATmanDu came from Busse Check the Etch....All 3 are Ratmandu just a few facial upgrades...All Excellent...

Do you think the Cerakote on this Swatmandu would be ok to use to cut up food occasionally?

I do have kitchen knives for that purpose but I love to cook and Busses so I see it being used sometimes for fun.

I have read mixed opinions about Cerakote and food. Was wondering if Busse uses a different style coating or if any of you have done this.

Least expensive way... marry into or inherit... :p however since those are not realistic options, the INFImandu's are right around the cheapest 4-6" INFI you are going to be able to buy. They are also about the most comfortable handle in the 4-6" offerings to boot! ;)
