Benchmade folders? Need to check carefully If they have slight side to side blade play first. I'm not saying completely drop shutting is not achievable with washers but often that action is accompanied with a tiny bit bladeplay.

At this point in my life I use a cane every day. And so, I do want a pocket folder that I can open with one hand.

BUT . . . .I much prefer a knife with some friction that allows some control over what is going on. I want to be conscious of how and when it is deployed and the same for putting it away.

My current go-to pocket folder is a CRKT M18 I bought used on e-Bay. It works just fine for me.

That is just me though. All you quick-flickers go on ahead with what you have going.

This one drops shut with seemingly zero friction.

I kind of dont like the super loose feeling on knives. Makes me think the tolerances arent good.
Ive had a bugout and 940, and hated them. Felt very cheaply made. Quality was very low for the price I paid.

My shirogorov stellar has excellent action. It will drop shut, but doesn't have that loose feeling.
My Vosteed psyop also has great action, very fidgety.

My Hogue EX-01 with its button lock, lack of washers, and blade-heavy balance probably has the least amount of friction of all my knives. The quality is excellent but I can’t say I’m in love with the lack of friction or the blade heaviness… feels less like I’m controlling the knife and more like the knife is controlling me.
